First grow 600w LED for now

Hey everyone,
First time growing anything to be honest. I was on a pretty tight budget (think I kept it under $500) for this initial setup. I'm currently running a 600w LED viparspectra reflector series 600w in a 4x4x7 tent. I currently have the tent at 74-76 degrees and 60% humidity with just the 6inch inline fan for ventilation. I was curious how these would hold up for growing conditions until I can afford another 600-900w led and go for the 1200-1500w in the 4x4. I'm currently planning on trying 2 plants for the first grow, will this 600w setup be enough power for them?

I think you can do 4 plants easy and then just add some CFL's for the extra boost of light on the perimeters. Just adjust as you go.

I was in the same boat as you only in a 2x4x5 foot tent.. started with one 600w viparspectra then added another for schnitz and giggles. Needless to say I'm very happy I added the extra light. Here we are wk 6 of flower... more light is better... especially with the Chinese blurple lights we are currently running. 20170731_234609.jpg

definitely 1-2 and scrog.

top at the 4th node, LST them out, Top the middles next, spread those out, keep the branchs as even as possible till you flower, then put the scrog up. You want to be able to get around it to tie it down the entrie veg process.

That light isnt all that great, your only pulling 275 from the wall to begin with. for that space, you need at least, 800 real watts. or 8-10 cobs at 100W each. Thats some perspective for you.

On the low side, 500 real watts, or 5-6 Cobs.

Oh, and the CLFs are a waste man. For the heat generated, its not worth it. Go on ebay and grab 1-2 $24 Heatsink+fan+lens+driver combo cobs. Heck, you could even just build a light unit with those if you want really.

8 set-ups for $200, @50w each, = about 350 watts, 40,000 lumens, 5,000 psrft

Im all about finding the cheapest lumens around.

I even have another idea i might do. But like u, I have very little funds to throw at this hobby.

Im using a Modded Mars300, 125 watts in a 2x2. I cant roll with this for awhile, because Im curious what the harvest is going to be. So, i have 10 weeks to get my light situation together for the next run. Im also getting a 4x3 tent, or construction a big cab of that size.

But like i said, i have 10 weeks for all that to come together.

Good growin to ya, and keep us posted bud.

cobs are cool, I just want light more even then 4-6 points of light sourse. Id like to have 12 in a 4x3, even if they are underpowered, the spread is on point.

But like i said, you can get a cheap combo package for $25 for 100w cob, with lenses. Thats cheap to get your feet wet.

If you start with 4 you can always trim as needed if things get out of hand. I would defiantly either SCROG or LST but I think SCROG is a slightly better method. Also not sure if you stated this but depending on the situation if one plant goes bad having the extra plants may be a good measure. So CFL's are a temporary measure until you can get an extra light, and yeah they give off some heat but are simple to implement if you can't swing the extra dough for the second light. COBs get hot also people have a single heat sink radiating at 100+ degrees F. No easy answers except trial and error and personal preference.

comes down to how big your wallet is really.

cheap route but decent, -- go with Citizen 1212, more expensive-- cree cxb3590, Vero29,,super cheap- ebay nobrand.

what is most expensive is the drivers.

No problem Mash, my pleasure relying information learned to those needing it.

Its all about that personal use container my brother, Tired of anxiety setting in when you have 2 joints left, its like pizza math, Hummmmmmmm, Should i wait for an hour??????? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, FK it, deal with it when its gone, BWHAHAHAHA.

Im doing a 4x3, so we're on the same boat man, so sit back, fire one up, and get this shht together already, lol..

Im actually going to try the LED strip light setup myself. 70,000 lumens, 20 strips, $230 bucks, done

Going to take some DYI brain work, but end result should be top end photon shower for big buds.

Im looking for Vape material from my harvest, so thats the goal.

There is so much disinformation out there, when this shit becomes federally legal, there is going to be a mad dash for home set-ups. Id like to get my foot in the door for "Safe Cultivation at home" and help people setup to grow their own medicine.

I been looking at the same galaxyhydro its like $80 and has some IR leds too. I was going to get the Viparspectra 300 watt version but its gone off Amazon now, but the galaxyhydro seems to be just like it but better possible since it has two fans. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on this light for my small grow area seems like many on this thread are all growing in similar sized rooms or tents. I am in a 4' x 32" x 5' area myself and due to lack of head room I have to LST or SCROG and this may work out well for LED's.

You know man, again, might be better off getting 4 cob setup from ebay, then to get those crap lights. Its alllll a scam.

$100 and some aluminum from Lowes, drillgun or rivet gun from Harborfrieht, 400 watts of a REAL spectrum, REAL watts,..

Give alot of thought to this man,

cheap and effective. Interchangable too. Down the road, upgrade to a different higher level Cob, might have to change the driver tho, but hey, its a start.

those will give you 36,000 lumens, those blurples give you around 4,000!!!!
