hey guys! new to the website and this will be my first grow. i have been around growing quite a bit but never bothered to learn anything. just a smoker and came across an awesome deal for a tent and light setup so i said hey why not! i will be growing 4 plants, all different strains that were clones my brother gave me and will be using coco as medium and mills nutrients. I will be documenting this grow throughout the entire cycle fairly often so i hope you guys enjoy and please feel free to give all the tips and advice that you can but please no negativity or random discussions
now lets get to it.....

equipment: (this is what i snagged for 80$ from a buddy of mine. all in good working condition)
  • 4x4x6.5 tent
  • Apollo 600w metal halide
  • Apollo 600w hps
  • Apollo 600w ballast
  • Sun System 6in air-cooled reflector and rope ratchet adjusters
  • 4 #7 gallon pots (which i did not use)
I then went out and purchased:
  • 6in hurricane inline fan
  • 6in ducting
  • 6in wall-ducting adapter (for ventilation through ceiling)
  • Digital temp/humidity sensor
  • PH pen
  • Timer for the light (18:6)
  • 4 3gal. fabric pots
  • 2 bags mother earth coco
  • Mills nutrients (A,B,start-R,C4,PK)
  • Advance Nutrients PH-down (as well as small shot glass measure cup and tiny syringe)
My brother is in middle of moving at the moment and starting a new grow and had some spare stuff to give me!
  • 2 small clamp fans to mount to poles of tent for air circulation
  • 4 clones i had mentioned earlier (Gorilla Glue 4, Joker OG, Tahoe OG, Sour Flame)
  • AutoPilot digital environment controller (will be powering the inline fan as well as reading the temp/humidity of the tent)
That is all my equipment i have setup. oh and i plan on getting a charcoal filter before flowering. i am in an apartment and will be growing in my closet. i am a little worried about heat but i realized i have my own attic that is sealed off from anyone around me so i am venting straight into the attic through a hole in the drywall. so far so good i have been testing it all running for a few days and is doing fairly well ranging from temps of 70-82. i do also have the two temp probes in there just to get a better reading. I just planted the clones into the coco today and gave them some water and began day 1 of a long but fun process!

Ok enough talking. here you go:.

the bulbs:

6" inline fan

nutrients/PH-down and cheap PH pen

some all natural coco

and the autopilot controller

i first cut a 6in hole in the drywall in the corner where i would vent the tent and placed a ducting adapter over it. i will be resting the fan on a hole on the top of the tent and then right to the ceiling

here is the tent setup with lights all ready to go

so thats what im working with. like i said its doing very well as far as holding the temp range that i want it to be at. it makes my closet a dam vacuum so i just open the door and try to manage the temp of my bedroom with the window and am getting it down just right. transplanted the clones into the 3gal fabric pots today and gave them just some ph'd water at first.(only roughly 6in around base of plant right after transplant) will begin feeding when they need to be watered next and then rotating between water and feed from then on out. dont have many pics of the plants yet but will have more up soon

heres the 4 babies. two in back are a little older (week maybe 2) that im hoping i can top in another week to try and have all plants same height)

today was end of day 1 and plants seemed a bit droopy. not too sure if its because it was just transplanted yesterday or if light being too close was an issue but i did raise the light up a little bit. Here's the plants today. plan on waiting maybe another day or two to dry out little more before i start feeding

on a side note: i have my temp/humidity sensor from the controller hanging directly under the middle of the light right at canopy level. should this be the correct spot for exact reading on temp/humidity? or will it be little warmer because of that direct light on it? i was using a cheap temp/humidity sensor in the tent at first (you can see it hanging in first post) and the long small probe attached to it was not accurate at all was telling me it was 77 directly under lights. well i tested that with two other temp sensors i have and its more like 85 directly under that light. so i now run the controllers temp /humid. probe directly under the light because it is actually accurate. and then got a Fred Meyer wireless temp sensor that hangs in middle of tent about 1.5 ft above the light. (which is accurate too) dont know if its necessary to know that temp up there?.. prob right where plants are is the only important temp but its there anyways. and i can watch the temp from the other wireless end and not have to get up off couchbongsmilie

this sensor is ghetto i know but its accurate and i just taped it to the cord already hanging down the middle for the controllers probe.

Looking good mate one thing I would recommend is starting lst on that tall one to keep her height low or you will need to keep lifting the light and the lowers will miss out on some lumens apart from that looking good

also get a fan lighty blowing on the girls to get a nice fat stem

Hey dude im on first grow but will tag along. I have 600w MH apollo and it was nice. Apollo 4x4 tents hold up my 6' hurricAne, phresh filter and rather big oscillating fan along with my radiant air cooled hood. ( I thought your tent was apollo.)

Im at work and couldnt read it all. Are you exhausting into your addic? I also have your ph meter and mine needs to be calibrated almost everytime you use it.

Im interested in you4 grow keep updating man

thanks man much appreciated! i was planning on topping that tallest plant to prevent it from growing any taller and to give the other ones a change to catch up.. i have looked into lst and feel as though that plant is already so big and i would have to lst all the others and i dont want to do that. but maybe you can give me some advice. that tallest plant has roughly 8 nodes now and all of them are alternating theres isnt a real good place to top because of this but i was going to take it down to about the 5th node. what do you think? probably needs a little pruning as well

yes i am venting into my attic. and yeah i have used it twice now and it read perfect first time. and then when i just fed em i checked it the 7.0 solution before i used it and it read different. very annoying but thats what we get for buying the cheap shit lol

and nice sounds like a very similar setup. send me link for your journal if your keeping one!
