First grow, 31 days in, CFL

So yeah guy this is my first ever attempt at growing marijuana, i have had some issues from the start i started off with 6 plants out of them only 1 has survived, accually germenated another 5 seeds about 2 wees after the frist 6 but non of them have made it this far, the lights fell on abut 4 of them and totally burned them , i had planted the first 6 in miracle grow time realize potting soil, when i reallized that was a mistake i tried transplanting and that shocked them so bad they didnt make it, the only one i have left is this girl(i hope) she is 31 day old, she had some issues also her growth was stunted for a few day but she seems to be doing better know she has been on 12/12 lighting since day 15. I think she is getting close to showing her flowers.



For nuts i started off with some chemical 10-10-10 i soon realized this was a mistake and got some Mexican 10-3-1 bat guano at my local nursery and i order some DR Earth Bud and Bloom Buster. I haven't really kept a consistent feed schedule but today i flush the pot and i fed a tea i made yesterday that had , a TSP of bat guano, 1/6 cup of DR earth, 1 tsp honey, a few drops of super-thrive and i let that air rate with a air pump for about 24 hrs. Dr Earth has a lot of Mycorrhizae and its the first time i feed so im interested in seeing if is see some growth.


Im using 5 27W CFLS 3@27k 1@41K and 1@50K, i just added 3 of this bulbs yesterday before that she only had 1 27k and 1 50k i think that might have been one of the resaons she was not growing i might not have had enough light.

The Grow room im using is just a small shelf with mylar and 1 fan the room stays at about 86 degrees when the lights are on. I know its kinda of high but my room is hot to begin with so there aint much i can do to low the temp any more than that




So my short time goal is to get this girl(she better be girl) to harvest before my b day in late june. For the long run i want to have constant personal supply maybe harvesting a small plant every 3 weeks to a month. I know ill need a bigger room and better lights, but that will come after i know figure out how not to kill my plants.

So any tips or info you have for me would be great. I feel that in the last 31 day i have learned alot but im sure there is lots to learn.

It looks like you are off to a good start. Maybe do some reading about Low Stress Training (LST). You will find it very useful with the small cabinet. I've flowered a plant with mearly (3) 26w cfl bulbs, and although the bud was airy due to the low light it was still some very good smoke and a better learning experience.

Ok yeah so this is just a quick update im finally starting to see some early signs of sex im not sure if i got me a female or male but i should know within the next few days. I have had a few more problems i had some yellowing on some of my bottom leaves i know some yellowing is normal but i have side lighting and it didnt seem normal, i also started getting some curling on my leaf tips almost looked like claws. So i flushed her yesterday hope she didnt go thru to much stress i gave her some superthive to help her out.


I also just started a new grow because my seedlings died, again. This time i feel ill be better prepared i have 2 seed germinating in my new medium 75 coco coir 25 perlite.i actually ordered my coco online because i could not find it locally but yesterday i found some at home-depot for like 3 dollars a brick. I also ordered General Organics Go Box, it was 18.00 and should include everything i need for a few grows.


Dont worry i have some red cups as sleeves on the clear ones to keep the light out, and so i can still see the roots growing every know and then.

Just one question, when should i start adding the Nutrients to the coco, i know with soil you wait a few weeks, is it the same with coco or will i need to add them sooner.

damn wish I would have seen this on the 16th? when u first posted, only when scrolling down did I realize u updated it today. I could have told u then ur plant was looking the slightest bit light & to feed N. Of course now u have a big time N deficiency going on & my guess would be ur probably starting a deficiency in a few other areas as well. I bet u HAVE learned a lot for sure & will continue to do so if ur lucky It is a great day when I have learned something new!

I am not familiar with superthrive, & ur bat guano is real low in P-K, so I would re-check to see if ur plant is getting all it needs. As well, r u using any calmag type nutes?

With soil people wait a few weeks, because the soil generally has all it needs in it to give the seedlings a good start. I am not familiar with the nutrient value of coco (I believe is memory serves correct there is some) but I would check that out; if has 0 nutritional value then u will want to research & add a mild nutrient mix for seedlings from the first few days.

So lots has changed since i first started this thread, Fist off i would like to update you all on how my girl is doing, she has still had some issues mainly high heat and underfeeding. She was doing so bad i decided i had to transplant her i was trying to avoid it but i felt it was my best chance so i did, and what do you know she is doing a lot better in her new coco medium. The root ball had been condensed in my other pot idk it was wierd she still had room for roots to grow in the pot but for some reason they were all condensed in a super tight ball. So yeah i broke up that ball and put here in coco and since then growth has taken off. She is still short like i want her to be but i noticed a major improvement. Today 5 days short of 2 months of waiting i have my first sign she is a she. Im supper exited



I had a heat problem in my grow box so i cut a whole on the top rear of my box and put one of my fans there the room went from being over 100 degrees with the door closed to a stable 87 degrees with the door closed. I know it still on the high side but it will have to due for the rest of the grow.



Today i will also start using the General Organics Nutrients, perfect timing as im just starting to flower. I will start her off with 1/2 recommended just to see how she reacts then ill bump it up to full strength.


I also finally got around to ordering some seeds i went with Sweets Seeds Cream Caramel Auto, it is a 8 week strain and i have seen grows this plant with great success and harvesting about an OZ a plant. Hopefully mine come out looking like the pic below. Im also planning on making seeds from these autos. I still have a lot of reading to due to figure out the best way to make them produce seeds. The seeds i ordered are feminized so i wont be able to cross a male with a female but i think i can make one of the girls turn in to a hermy then use that pollen on one of her sister. Again im not sure about this i still need more reading.
