Hello everyone!

I'm finally made an account because I realized, after reading a bunch of posts, how helpful this site is.

So this is my first grow. I'm 30 days in. They are a little small because we had some transplant hiccups.

tent is 5 x 3
Smart pots
450w of t5 6500k lights from our local grow shop. With side lighting for when they get bushy.
They have a fan for circulation.
And they are in black magic potting soil.
On an 18-6 schedule with timer
Starting with fox farm monday.

6 plants
Tangy auto
Tangy kush
Afghan skunk
Chemdawg
Fruity chronic juice
Triple cheese.

What do you guys think? Am I on the right track? I've done loads of research and 20180324_173734.jpg 20180324_173716.jpg 1521941128105863254421.jpg 1521941206477755006297.jpg fingers crossed that we get something good!

Thanks!

Had a gnat problem.
But I put up yellow fly trap opposite the fan to catch them and held back on watering for the topsoil to dry out.

Tada! No more gnats!

Looks great!

It's really important to keep the soil pretty dry, good call.

Some things to keep in mind:

Start nutrients at 1/4 strength for small plants

Be sure to spray an organic and safe fungicide and pesticide weekly as it is imperative in preventing powdery mildew and bud rot outbreaks.

Spider mites/any insects will not be a problem as long as you take great care in preventative maintenance.

I learned that lesson the hard way, and enough times to remember lol

I use pure cold pressed neem oil. One oz per gal in hot water with 1/2 tsp of dish soap.

Very effective all in one, takes care of bugs and mold but it has a funny smell.

Also if you're flowering under t5 and want any semblance of a high yield, it's important to train the canopy to be as flat and even as possible.

A flat wide footprint is the only way to pull respectable numbers with t5 in my opinion.

That being said, they are great for veg and still definitely work alright to flower if kept close.

Feel free to post any questions or info!

Happy growing :leaf:

Amazing! Thanks for all the great info.

It's all such a new process and I'm learning everyday.

I have LED inserts for my T5 when its flowering time. Which I'm still trying to learn what to look for near flowering time.

You're welcome!

It is quite exciting to start a new grow

I have been at it for a while growing my own medicine and I still learn a ton every day!

Just watch out on RIU because half the people here have no experience and post on every forum just to pump an imaginary ego haha

Lots of old timers and solid growers here to help though.

I've heard good things about the led inserts.

Lol I've already read a few "hostile" posts all because someone's ego got in the way.

Thanks again for the warm welcome abd valuable info. I have several mj bibles that recommend neem oil also. So I'll give it a shot.

I'm really enjoying my grow so far.

Gotcha, it may move at a different pace than the photos but free is always good. ;-)
My thoughts exactly! I figured the auto wont care too much about the environment set for the photos. If I need to move her, I can.

Also I just set up a "quarantine" tent for any plants that might need to be isolated or doctored.

Sounds like a plan in action. ;-)
