take the veg formula
example
get a trash can

fill it with 20 gallons

add the veg formula for 25x gallons to the 20 gallons of water (the mix will be hot with a high EC maybe 1.5 guess)

stir it

test the EC (1.5 guess)

add water while stirring and testing until the EC gets to 1.2

ph adjust put the 1.2EC solution into your reservoirs

asap

test your reservoir solution daily
with this practice in mind

well rooted clones and sprouts requiring food get EC 0.5 to start

by the time there 12" tall there ready for full strength. having gradually raised the EC to something around 1.2 ..maybe more, maybe! never ever ever more than 1.5

and yes my formula is fine for RO water or not

unless your tap water is super high EC you don't need RO

what is the EC/ph of your tap water?

Ok thanks. to recap all your responses

So to start you think they are starving. the entire time I thought I was over fertilizing? does this look like a terrible case of nitrogen toxicity as well? I figured .6/.8 would be light bUT sufficient enough. I scrolled through my grow photos last night and though they look very rough they have grown a lot in one month!

My tap was reading .2 to .3 ec so I bought an ro filter and now have no reading for ec on my truncheon. I would like to stick with the ro to avoid any potential issues with tap plus I've invested the money

I have the blue lab truncheon and I have found using the ec measurement in my log , (but it translates to ppm in both 500 and 700 scale)

Is there any reason to use the calmag?

So I have six plants bubbling in 5 gal pots roots continue to grow and are about 3 feet long. so this morning two of them are in plain ro ph to 5.8 flush until I get home from work (24 hours total) Two with an ec of .6 and ro look ok. and two in ro .6 ec that look not good.

Hoping to get them back on track! I'm only in a 3x3 tent I was going to sacrifice at least a couple of these and only keep the best few. for experiment purposes I think I may go light veg nute on one, your bloom formula on another and your recommended veg for the rest and hope that two or three turn around!

Thanks again!

try more like 6.0 pH and don't fight it too much. it can drift.
his ph is 5.8

that's about as close to 6.0 as matters

you said DWC yes

example;
monday
set your ph at 5.5
set your EC at 1.0
right it down

don't touch the reservoir (don't even check it) until

wednesday
check the reservoir ph and EC

if the EC went down and the PH went up, consider raising your EC (maybe from 1.0 to 1.2) or (from 1.2 to 1.4)
(no reason to ever be above 1.5)

if the EC went up....... lower the EC
if the PH hasn't moved...... lower the EC
if the PH went down...... lower the EC

when your feeding the ideal EC the EC will drop slow thru the week and the PH will rise slowly
for example starting ph set at 5.5 and over 5 days it rises to 6.3

if your under feeding the EC will drop and the ph will rise quickly almost over night or within 2 days from 5.5 to 6.5

the goal is to not have to mess with it every day
you want to get to a place where you can feel safe with setting your reservoir and not having to chase it or check it every 2 hours.....

Coming at you with more photos and explanations

Pretty sure I have all the right tools just not using them right! After burning them in the beginning I may have been overly cautious and never imagined I was under feeding. The clawed leaves and dark green color made me certain I was still over feeding them!

Gh air compressor x3 so each 5 gallon bucket gets two air stones
Blue lab truncheon
Ph/ temp meter
California light solar system 550 set to 70 red 99 white 99 blue
Technaflora recipe for success which I am not using to their recommended schedule.
Switched to RO water on Monday night

Been running everything at a very conservative EC level of .6 until an hour ago.
@im4satori I put your recommended veg recipe and strength 1.4 in only one bucket and your recipe diluted all the way to .4 in another. The other 4 are still at .6 until I see movement in one of these experiment buckets. I think a few of them look better today

I check each reservoir every day. And have been adjusting down to 5.5 and watching each drift typically over 6 each day. Then I was ph down to 5.5 and starting over again

So here are the photos. Thanks for the help! I want to succeed at this!

yes

the ph drift increasing over night by that much is a 100% sure sign of under feeding

do yourself a favor

bump all of them up to EC 1.0 (even 1.0 is on the low and safe side)
feeding plants that age 0.6 is too low by any standard

leave the 1plant at EC 1.4 for your experiment

compare the test samples on how the ph and EC changes

btw

EC 0.6 is what I start my 3" tall rooted clones at

EC 0.5 for sprouts ...when there ready for food

and I feed likely lower than likely 80% of the peeps on this sight

soo you can rasie them all up to 1.0 my friend

Ok. I have placed all my faith in your words. The girls have been bumped up to 1.0 except for the girl at 1.4. Hope I can sleep tonight . It's about to get real! I'll update tomorrow

lol

itll take a few days (about 3) but youll be happy

for now so you can see how it works
keep a daily journal or log of your PH and EC from the reservoir as it changes

Below is what I'm doin now in flower. I had a mg def, so I upped the calmag and added epsom, but next rez refill this weekend will have lower calmag (2ml).

RO water
1.8ec

that looks pretty good for bloom, its a very light mix not hot at all, im guessing maybe EC 1.0

as an option; you could easily bump the awesome up to 2mls in later bloom to get the P and K up
then just dilute the mix to your target EC

your heavy on the Epsom salt and could easily drop it down to a light 1/4 tsp

sugar daddy isn't something I would bother with unless your also running beneficial bacterias and molasses would be a less expensive option to the sugar daddy but theres nothing wrong with the way your mixing as in its balanced and its a safe low

Mad props for the technaflora help. I learned the hard way that the instructions run a lot hotter than what our plants need. After a lot of trial and error, I figured that my current run of sour diesel wants an ec of 1.6-1.8. Too bad I didn't find this earlier, would have saved me a headache!

might need some help getting the nutes into the plant......ide add some mykos or great white etc. thats a better route than just going for diff nute levels imo.
