First Closet Setup

im basically just trying to jumpstart some females for an outdoor setup.
im going with an idea i had of having multiple plants in one box, each sitting in their own 2 liter bottle. now if i kill one, i dont neccisarily kill them all. here is the basic setup design, i need to buy lights today, along with an air pump and some hose. i asked for some information about homeade organic nute tea, but i might just go with storebought, its tried and true. i even heard of a design where you dont need a pump, so i thought i'd give it a run, but i cant get any seeds started for it yet.. the ones i salvaged from my last bag haven't been germinating.

attached are pics of my setup, and my "pumpless wick design"

where are those little swirly flourescent lites cheap? i can only find them for 11$ a bulb. how many do i need per plant?

the 2 liter maintains a good moisture for the plant, but im just not sure i can trus the water's oxygen level, i have no idea how to test that. do i need a pump? i plant to to 6 of these at a time... how much do you think i'll yield on this design with an average local seed?

i'll first use this wicker hamper to start my seedlings b4 putting them in the hydro-pots. then i can alter it to fit my tall ladies in, but i plan to keep my girls pretty bushy.

before you bother saying anything, i will be using industrial alum. foil to reflect inside my boxes. i will also get the CFL's.

here's the fan. its really quiet and will get my plants ready for the tropical trade winds.

here is my setup before it's totally hidden.

Didnt spend much time looking at the pictures because I am in a rush but I have no idea what is going on in yoursetup, lol..

As for the CFL cost. A 23 watt (equal to 100) is about 6-7 bucks at a store usually. Depends on the brand.

lol, as i said, it's in the early stages of setting up, you'll figure it out when u see the complete setup.

heres the top of my hydro canister, b4 placing in the box.

heres a side view where u can see the water wicking its way up to the basket.

i always have a dark sock over the base to keep out algae.

Ahhh, ok makes sense. Maybe thats why I got some green on my plants.

Quick question... You are using tinfoil?

im using it around the actual cup that the rock/shredded paper are in. im doing that to block light from the water/food resevoir, and im also reflecting more light back to the environment. if i let light into the resevoir, i'll of course get algae which starve the root system of oxygen.the green you see is the cloth that sucks water up to the medium. everything has been washed with vinegar and rinsed. the green cloth uses capillary action to deliver nutrient rich water and oxygen to the root system.

i just can't get it into action because my seeds wont sprout. im pist. they're takin forever. please help me get germination kick started. i soaked them in nute/water and they are in the dark closet on a moist paper towel in an open ziplock. why aren't they splitting and sending root?

i just got one seed to sprout, its in the above pictured starter cup, but i switched to a styrofoam base so that no light leaks in.

i'll post pictures tonight.

today was a slow day, i blew all the money i had on beer, so i couldnt get the extra cfl's and multi bulb sockets i wanted. tomaro i'll have somethin for yall

you can see the white seed pouch that im germing my late splitters in. it gets plenty of warmth there, sumtimes i put it on my porch to get even warmer.

my fan. the exit hole is huge along with a good sized intake. lots of cfi here, but it runs low and quiet. im thinking of investing in a few 6$ pc fans.

first peek of the inside of my box. I found instructions sumwere on here for a double tall tub that snaps in 2 pieces.

heres an overhead of my box. the foil is crinkled to shit, but i'll get more fixtures to fix that. i already have 2 cfls in there, they are relativly low wattage, but i just need to keep the surface warm to guide my seedling skyward. i have 2 more cfl bulbs but the problem is 3 of them are 10W=40W... my other is a 26w=100w.

boo on the tinfoil lining... not good :(

And how many watts is that light?

Looks so small!

Any sign of sprouting yet?
