First CFL Budget Grow (Nute advice appreciated)

Hey all.
This is my first post & first grow.

I'm starting with one clone plant & I plan to make it a mother plant & then create additional clones.

My supplies thus far are as follows:
- Scott's Premium Potting Soil
- (4) 27 watt Daylight CFLs
- Oscillating fan
- Tap water (I let it sit out for 24 hours)

My plans are the following:
- making the door light proof (for 12/12)
- installing 2 computer fans into the door for circulating air (one in, one out).
- installing mylar as an interior lining.

All of those I plan to accomplish within then next 3 days.

The clone is a sativa (sour diesel) & has rooted well into the rockwool so I dropped it into a pot of soil.

It's been looking good these last few days & is standing at 4.5" tall.

:weed: I don't have a clue as what to do about adding nutes so any recommendations would be lovely. :weed:

Thanks!

[PS: Sorry about the crappy cell phone pictures]

I'll see if I'm feeling frisky enough to try a SCROG grow, haha. Thanks man.

check your potting soil, it may already have nutes in it
Yeah I checked this & it seems it already has a small amount of nutes in it. The plant is growing slowly but surely, any advice on something I can give it to boost growth in the veg state?

How about fish emulsion.. like the Alaska Fish Fertilizer, it's 5-1-1 and organic. Stinks bad but I think I might pickup a bottle.

add some warm white cfls so that she stretches out a little more if your making a clone mother. I use 20-20-20 fertilizer myself. Teaspoon per gallon of water.

I heard about that from a friend, maybe I'll check it out.

Two 27 watt Warm White CFLs in addition to the other 4 should be good enough, right?

Thanks for all the feedback guys! :weed:

I followed a grow journal where they used schultz's 10-15-10 (walmart, lowe's) food, it was a cfl grow and the buds looked nice, they used it throughout the whole cycle. I am using the same stuff, so far the plant's love it. it is cheap, cheap, like $3. I use it full strength in miracle grow organic soil which also has mg perlite which has nutes in it too. cheap is the way to go for me, so far the plants are healthy and just starting flower. peace

Hmm, sounds interesting.
You don't happen to have a link to this grow journal, do you?

I've used Schultz 10-15-10, cheap and effective. I've used it regularly at 4-8x strength every other water depending on how well the plants took to it(4 tsp/gal is 4x). Slight nute burns on the weaklings, no big deal.

Yeah I picked that Schultz stuff up today & just gave the plant some, I'll see how that goes.

But to continue my update, I decided on a different grow space while I update the other one. It's pretty stealthy on its own.

I also picked up some new supplies:

- Schwartz 10-15-10
- (2) 23w 2700k CFLs
- (3) Extension Cords
- Foil Tape
- (2) Socket adapters

The plant is on Day 6 & seems to be developing leaves nicely. I'm giving it a low dose of Schwartz every other watering.
I added one 23 watt Warm White CFL. Also, excuse the weird light arrangement, I ended up breaking two of my cheap-ass Y-socket adapters so I can't have the two rows of three lights that I want haha.

So I woke up this morning after burning the midnight oil last night building a new grow space & I see that my LARGEST light fixture dropped onto the plant.

The stem isn't broken, but the top half of the plant is weak & folds over. The bottom leaves were burned badly, I had to cut 2 off total.

I supported it with a pencil, but I don't know if the plant will survive. The stem got really thick & green at the bottom, but not all of the stem is like this.

Will the plant be okay or should I start making plans for a funeral service?

Thanks

So I could use some advice...
Since the light has been dropped. the bottom inch of the stem is developing really well, it got green & thick. The top inch of the plant is developed well as well & is thicking up & green.

The part in between those, however, aren't developing at all, the plant will bend over because its so top heavy.. is there anything I can do to save this plant or should I just make note of getting another clone or other seeds?

Thanks

How bad was the bend when it was smashed? is it cracked in half? just squashed? if it was just squashed you should have left it alone it would have probably pulled through (same as when u supercrop). As long as you have it supported though and its not got a gaping whole that you can look into you should be fine. If it does start to show its gonna die just / the top and clone it lol. MJ is a very forgiving plant :)
