let the rockwool dry out a little bit. this forces the roots to search downward for food. once they hit the water you can stop watering the rockwool all together.

Any white plastic would do. I got these pot covers that were like 5 bucks for 40 or something like that. They're 6 inch square

I used a circle cutout of a icecream lid and stuck reflective tape on it. I cut a hole in the middle and the circle is split to allow for removal without stem damage :)
I have my water level just below the netpot and I only have rockwool in mine cos its a seeding tube so only rockwool cube will fit :P
I can't justify buying a 10kg bag of hydroton at $20 for such a small grow, rockwool alone is working fine, I did soak the cube for 24hrs in ph'd water tho before hand.
I'll be posting my new dwc growbox soon so keep an eye out! ;)

Panda film. fasho!
My buying list just keeps growing lol

So I'm looking for a bit advice on my lighting situation.

I'm definitely going to run my 24" cfl...
I also have a focus ballast and three different types of bulbs to choose from.
The one the left my cousin gave to me which seems to be a heating lamp.
The middle is (well you guys know lol)
120v 23w
And the one on the right I purchased because it said it can be used for gardening on the package.
120v 65w

Which can I benefit from?

last one. also having them in the buckets without roots hitting the water does nothing. get them under a humidity dome so they can root quicker.

naw. use the cfl. both the other two bulbs are incandesant and waaayyy less efficient (3x). and you dont want the heat lamp. optimally you want 6500k (bright white) colored cfls, at least over 5000k for veg. if you have a little fan next to it you can put the cfls less than an inch away from your plants and they grow as fast or faster than 2 ft below a 400. swhat i do.

even closer than it looks in the picture. 1" or less with that fan there. the bulb isnt even hot when i touch it.

The room is pretty cold but I'll put the cfl closer with the fan on. Cause they do seem to be growing slow as fuck

yeah, as close as you can, and another wouldnt hurt either. its only ten bucks for two of those, so i would put one over each plant. the fan i have is as much to cool the cfls as the plants... ive had two overheat and burn out on me inside those tiny hoods.

I used to be on top of everything all the time when I was unsure about my plants and nutrients. Get a product that works and works well, it's a joy to grow and walk into your room now. Not saying anything bad about your grow or nutes, they are awesome. Just saying enjoy the journey man, and always move forward in your decisions with plants, nutes and growing. Peace.

I'm not jumping to conclusions Cheese. LolI can always appreciate constructive criticism and advice!I'm full on committed to do this indoor grow. I've tried outdoor on two separate occasions but never bothered to look into properly doing it. Which in return ended in utter failure. This being my first indoor op, I plan on doing it right and doing my homework. Technoflora is something that was suggested but after looking into your choice of nutes and info provided by homebrewer gave me more homework to do. It's probably a good thing I haven't yet purchased the recipe for success. LolBut so far I've changed a couple things to my grow that "I" feel I'll benefit from.Happy growing g. :weed:

Good luck wcoast! It's definitely a journey, a miserable one sometimes, but just stick it through. After months of headache mines finally going alright. A few months from now it'll be even better.

Just don't repeat mistakes and read, read, read and you'll be fine mate.

This is the oldest which finally rooted down and through the rw. I can see the little hairs :) I'm going to wait till the weekend to put it in the bucket.

This one is 7 days old.

This little beaut is the one I was planning on doing outdoor but after seeing the beautiful purplish color I decided to add another bucket to the grow. Although I have some leftover hydroton I'm thinking about growing this in coco. Heard great things and wanna try it out to compare it myself to hydroton.

Even though DG has something which caught my attention greatly, I'm going to go with Technofloras recipe for success. Also I'm going to add a 2' T5 CFL :):weed:
