First attempt at DIY design, will it work (800w)

Im trying for a full 1000w hps replacement and more if possible
Is 15" per cob too little or too much for a CXB3590 driven at 50w each?

it will be passive cooled and flexible as each bar is a seperate 200w led light

And if it is too powerful could I just run them lower down to 150w or 175w each bar for a higher efficiency?

so the bar would be 54" x 15"?

i have 200 w of 3590 on 31" x 12" (29#) passive. barely warm in a 77° ambient room.

I built one similar to what you have but 3 bars of 4 driven at 50w. It covers a 4.5x4.5 very well. I just finished first grow with it in a 4x4 tray flipped 35 rooted clones and got 896g off 600w. Vs what I used to get with a 600w hps was about a pound. I would say my light would be a direct replacement for a 1000w hps. The strain was cookies which is a low yielder for sure. Running it again now with my critical kush cut which off a 600 hps the lowest I got in a 4x4 tray was 600g so I'm hoping for over a kilo off this run. I think you could get away with 3 bars of 4 if you wanted to save some loot but if you do what you intend you could dim them down to 600w and it would be crazy efficient. Would deff replace a 1000w.

Depends on what heatsink you'll use.
the heatsink would be passive about 5"x55" - I was more concerned is it enough light. I could always add cooling to the heat sinks too if needed.
