First Apache AT600 Grow - Barney's Farm Critical Kush

I just bought an Apache AT600. This is my first LED. It will arrive sometime this week, I hope. Some of you might be interested in reading the first thread I started regarding my AT600 purchase. It is here:

I'm really excited to do my first grow with this light; and that grow begins today.

Strain: Barney's Farm Critical Kush, feminized
Seedbank: The Attitude
Grow Room: 3'8" x 3'8" x 8 closet, flat white paint, good air circulation and ventilation
Lighting: T5 until the AT600 arrives, then I'll use just the AT600 thru veg and flowering
Medium: Sunshine Mix #4, plus two tablespoons dolomite lime per gallon, plus a generous amount of coarse perlite
Pots: 5-gallon Smart Pots
Nutrients: Dyna Gro (Pro-Tekt + Grow)
Additives: Liquid Karma during flowering

Grow Method: SCROG

I also have a dehumidifier and portable air conditioner in the bedroom which houses my grow closet. Humidity and temps are maintained at (or very close to) optimum levels.

I began soaking 3 of the seeds this morning. I'll have them planted in Rapid Rooters by tomorrow evening.

Nice choice, subbed, good luck, should be a great run with that awesome/monster light! Have my first ever CK seedling shooting out it's second set of leaves for 2 rounds down the road

BTW, this will be a SCROG grow. I recently did my first SCROG with Jack Herer (from Sannie's Shop), and the yield was amazing. I used a 600-watt HPS for flowering in that grow.

I'm so glad to be transitioning to LEDs.

The SCROG and SOG grow methods seem almost (to me) tailor-made for LEDs. All buds at the same height diminishes and possibly even eliminates any advantage that HPS has due to a penetration power advantage. Just my thoughts...

Scrogging with an Apache + Critical Kush = TFS!

I wonder if you even need the Protekt with a beautiful setup like that? I was just reading some articles stating silica only works on stressed out plants in sub-optimal environments. I don't think anything you got going is sub-optimal WW. You ever read/hear anything like that?

I wonder about Pro-Tekt as well. HomeBrewer (a member on this site) did some impressive side-by-side grows featuring popular nute brands pitted against one another. He found in his grows that Dyna Gro (Pro-Tekt and Grow) worked well. He never even used their Bloom formula. Just Pro-Tekt and Grow the entire cycle.

Your point is well-taken. But I don't know the definitive answer.

Edited: HomeBrewer did experiment with the Dyna Gro Bloom formula, but in the end decided that using the Grow formula the whole cycle worked better than trying to use Bloom.

I just got a shipping notice from Apache Tech. My AT600 is scheduled to be delivered here on June 9th.

If you havent bought the protekt yet you can make your own, all it is is potassium silicate and water, you can make a gallon of the identical solution for about $8, it is a great additive, I dont know if it actually helps yield but the plants just look more vibrant. I did my last run without it and I could tell. The protekt also helps ballance the PH with dynagro.

I decided to use Rapid Rooters instead of planting directly in Dixie cups. I soaked my seeds for 16 hours, and they all cracked open. I just now planted them in the Rapid Rooters under T5 lights.

I've got a sativa pheno critical kush that I've been running for a year or so that will mess you up. I've got some people that tried my last run of it under a XGS 190 with UV and they said it was the strongest weed they ever smoked,and they aren't light weights.

Cool Captain. I'm actually considering an Area 51 XGS190 for use in a 32" x 32" x 60" tent. Would a single XGS190 cover that space well in flowering?

I found out my XGS drivers were not set right in assembly and mine only pulls 165 watts at the wall,Jeff said he would take care of me. I ran mine in a 3'x3' tent and had to add some Cree bulbs on two sides to help out and got 7 zips,didn't know it was driven softly till it was done. I really think a XGS at full power will cover a 3'x3' if you rotate the light 1/4 turn each day to even coverage out,rectangular light. I'll be looking to prove it when I get my XGS up graded.

OK, sorry for the long time with no updates. Here is a pic of my plants taken today, still under T5 lighting.

The AT600 will be here on Monday. I'll post pics of it when it arrives.
