First 400W HID Grow, Bagseeds

This is going to be my first attempt at growing with my 400W light system. I have a MH conversion light for vegging and a HPS for flowering.

I started seven bagseeds on one of the last few days of January, just can't remember exactly which one. Six sprouted, and I got pictures of a few of them the next day. I think these were taken Feb. 2nd. There's a slight deformation in the leaves on the last picture. If anyone can tell me what might be the cause, it would be much appreciated.

In addition to those sprouts, I also had my friend's plant which was at the very end of flowering That means for the first few days, they were actually grown for the first week on a 12/12 schedule, but the shouldn't have hurt them, right?

As for my friend's plant, it was vegged by him with a single incandescent, and flowered by my HPS. It wasn't the greatest looking plant in the end, but I harvested almost a quarter oz. of some fine smoke. These pictures are from my Feb. 7th Harvest, and from some time before harvesting.

On Feb 9th or 10th I took some more pictures. Almost all the plants had a nice amount of growth in the week, but two of the plants started to yellow a little bit in the bottom leaves.

I was thinking that it might be possible that I accidentally put them into flowering, and maybe that would explain the growth spurts. Or maybe that's just how this strain is, I'm not sure. Either way, it was switched to my MH bulb, and it's on an 18/6 light schedule, so it should be fine from now on, right?

Oh yeah, the light is too strong to get a picture anywhere within 2 ft. of it with it on, and it's too dark to see the picture otherwise, so the only pictures of the full room I can get have these weird light lines. You should be able to see through them though.

These pictures are from Feb. 14, not much to report. The two in the glass pots started to look a bit more yellow, and just aren't as healthy as the others. There's a lot of new branches forming in the nodes of the healthy ones, and I'm very happy with how bushy they are getting.

The day after the last pictures, I started nuting them with Jack's Classic at 1/4 strength. As it turns out, I was so worried about over-nuting and over-watering that I didn't quite use enough ferts or water to reach the roots, so in a couple of days I go to my grow room to find droopy, still malnourished plants. They look much better now that I flooded them with water, but the yellow ones haven't shown much improvement. These were taken 2-17-09, and are the last of the pictures I have until tomorrow.

Take a look at the plant in the first two pictures. It's the tallest one, so I thought it was a male since they tend to grow taller. To my surprise, I checked it today and I counted 6 pistils coming out near the top. Is that normal with the light schedule being 18/6? Today she stands over 7 inches tall and has started her ninth leaf set going up, plus a countless amount of leaf sets starting from the nodes. Not bad at all for almost 3 weeks old. Needless to say, I have very high hopes for her :bigjoint:.

These are from earlier today. They're all looking much healthier, except the two in the glass pots for some reason. I got lazy today and didn't feel like moving the pots around to take pictures, so they all have those light lines in them. If anyone could tell me what might be plaguing the little ones, it would be much appreciated.

nice man, don't worry about the little ones, i had some sick looking younglings early on and now they're doing just fine! You can see how they turned around in my sig! also i wouldn't worry about going 12/12 to 18/6, people do it all the time to determine sex before actually flowering

slowly work you way up to full nute dosages, i did 1/4 of what directions said and worked it up

I didn't get lazy with the pictures today, I got pictures of all my plants from several different angles.

The small yellow plants are perking up and getting their deep green color back in little blotches, slowly going down the leaves. They should be fine in a day or two. The taller plants are each 8 1/2 inches tall, and all the others range from 6-7 inches. I'm trying to determine the right time to start flowering, maybe when the smallest gets to a foot high. Any suggestions?

I got a thermometer today to make sure heat and humidity levels were optimal. A quick move of my fan closer to my light fixed a minor heat problem, but it seems to be extremely dry in my room. I might start leaving bowls of water near the grow area for a temporary fix.
