Finding Ppm Sweet Spot in Flower

I am trying to find the ss ppm for my sour kush girls.

week 5 flower, and I had the ppm at 1400, I noticed that they were drinking more water than nutes. Tips were just barely burned....(ppm would slowly rise over the day)
I assumed they needed lighter nutes so I dropped it to 1250 ppm.

After a day the ppm was the same and the water level dropped a lot as well.

My question is is this how you find the sweet spot? Is this the goal?

After I add back water I also add back the necessary nutes(base nutes only I don't add back additives), to get back to 1250.

My girls look great and have a ton of trichomes.

This is my opion and what works for me, i like being alittle high than under but when its getting close to flush time

Less is more with feeding. I feed all my strains mid 800's or 1.2 EC and consistently yield very well. EC is only part of the equation when it comes to feeding as the actual mineral makeup of your EC dictates how well your plants will perform. No offense to anyone but if you think your strains do well in the 1000's of ppms, you've got some more practicing to do.

Good info, I'm a rook so I'm in absorbing info mode.

My plants are dark green, but not in terms of nitrogen overdose. This was the color I was shooting for.

At 1.2 ec would you say your plants are dark green, or a few shades lighter?

Does leaf color have any correlation with quality and yield?

AK47 on harvest day below. Feeding levels never exceeded 1.2 EC. My EC doesn't 'drop' necessarily as the plants consume water and nutes in roughly the same ratios. My res is an adequate size to handle 6 plants of that size in rockwool with the number of times I flood per day. Weekly res changes.

I'd love to see full pics of the strain at harvest that enjoys those feeding levels with no burn. I'm not calling you out, i'm honestly curious.

Anything 1300 - 1600 is pretty high in my opinion. Strains also have a lot to do with it too. Some strains can take a lot of nutes and some cant. Over feeding will cause you to lose lots of water.

I honestly think you could improve your yield a lot by cutting your feeding levels back.

Both grows look nice..good job. Different tokes for different folks. If it aint broke dont fix it.

I've been around since the "overgrow" days you dildo, just cause i'm trying a new method and learning something new doesn't make you Jack Herrer. With great detailed information like the kind your provided above, I'm baffled at why i didn't solve my problem and you didn't get your own section in this forum! The "Beaver" is right, to each his own so Start helping people with THEIR grow, instead of trying to convert them to your backward ass ways. Thats RIU for you, lots critical people here. If you dont want criticism then you gotta find a new forum. I'm part of another message board but still use this one too. Alot of growers hate this place thats why they start there own message board. Hellraizer has been around the block he knows how it goes one rule all growers share is " grow what way works best for you"
