Ordered a hlg-240h-24b and received a 185h-24b, got refunded and they told me to keep it. Haven't been able to figure out what I could use it for. Anybody done any builds with this driver? All suggestions welcome

What are you using the original driver for?
24v strips?
Was going to use it on 4 qb120 but since I had extra time because of the mixup, I saw that the qb132 boards are practically the same price and higher output. So I ordered a hlg-240h-1750 and will be ordering the panels Friday. Now I'm just stuck with this oddball driver that I have no idea what to do with

I am not familiar with strips. I see that the shorter ones are 24v. How would I connect enough of them to handle the wattage, while having enough voltage to power multiple 24v strips? I am a complete electrical noob. I do follow directions very well though

Whichever boards or strips you decide to use, you would wire them in parallel( unless you find lower voltage strips such as 12 volt, in which case wiring would be a series- parallel configuration). Wired in parallel, the strips will share the 24 volts that the Hlg-240H-24B outputs.

If you find some strips that you like and seem like they will work with your driver, post a link, and we can help you with the details.

Those Sun boards have a recommended max. Drive current of 1800 mA. At least this Tennessee seller isn't crossing out the boards maximum drive current and replacing that with his own information like the North Las Vegas seller is doing.

With that driver and those boards you would want at least 5 boards wired in parallel. You can do 5 boards or more( up to however many boards are practical for you, and the boards will keep splitting the drivers available DC Current). The more boards you use the more efficient they will run and your light spread will improve. With your driver, I would look to use 6 or 7 of those Sun Boards.

Edit: This is the North Las Vegas seller I was referring to. Take a look at image 2 of 4. I believe there are at least two growers on this forum using Sun Boards with LM301B from this seller.

Thank you greatly. It's very hard to get all this stuff straight when you dont know how these things work. Your help is appreciated, now I won't have a useless driver collecting dust

Are there heatsinks on Ebay you can buy, or do you think you'll find another supplier?
I actually contacted him and he said he would have some in soon. Not sure what he means by that, but I have to get my flower tent in order right now anyways. That seller has always been good about answering any questions, I have bought a single qb288, and a 260 from him. After I referred a buddy to him, he cut him a deal on a multiple order of 260's
