Finally won the battle with the mites. Heres how.

I fought for 2 weeks trying to knock them down, using spray fungicides and insecticidal soaps hot shot strips and nothing. it might have been keeping them at bay but not killing, dropped the humidity and temps down, turned the fan up. finally i used some stuff i found in the basemnt. one plant at a time and it worked. its called SEVIN DUST. maybe it will help someone else out! hope i helped. :lol:

its called sevin dust. pretty cheap stuff. mine in a cardboard can, just a very fine dust i sprinkle on the soil. i never saw a single mite on the plants tehmselves. only on the soil surface. but i cant find any anymore so im pretty sure i beat them!

Sorry you had to use poisons; please see my post about killing spider mites 100% naturally above your post. A recipe is posted there and some directions - should help you in the future.

Yeah, it always takes about 2 weeks to make them all go away - becasue of hatching eggs that survive early sprayings.

it was the first time i had ever seen bugs in my grows. and i saw no damage to the plants themselves. and i never would have seen a bug this small if it hadnt been for my wifes particular eye sight. looking back it makes me wonder if i had them beofre witout knowing. there almost invisible to the naked eye. pinhead size, i uses my mag glass to see them. it would allways take me a few minutes to find them, its like my eyes allways forgot how small to look for. but i swear to you guys, i ahd mites in my soil surface. and not on the plants. i wish i had figured out a way to take a quality shot of them but they were to damn small. ill look at some pics of aphids and mites. and see if im mistaken. are aphids more prone to soil??

i saw now webs. i didnt see any shells, like and aphids would leave after morphing. if they were aphids they were kept under control before ever morphing. but can that be possible? can they spawn before they rear a mature level?
on a another note, i did see 1 or 2 small flying bugs in the past few weeks, ive been looking for them, shaking branches, looking under leaves. no signs of eggs or anything anywheres.
if this makes a difference, i had 8 plants at the time going, 4 starting budding, and 4 muhc younger. they seemed to only be in the soil of the younger ones. the only variable i saw here was that the soil of the younger ones was getting much more light on it, becuase there wasnt nearly the foliage of the elders. but i figured they would be moving and infesting every plant in the room. just kinda confused on what my problem was.

and cali buzz, i was a little hesitant to use it, as id never seen anything online about it prior. but its says it safe on all fruits and vegitables up to day of harvest. so i figured i tshould be relitivly safe on using it.

mites feed on the undersides of leaves, you would've noticed the damage to them.

Dude i just pulled my mom out of my closet and saw the exact same thing your describing. Super small bugs... maybe white or slightly yellowish in color. They are about the size of a piece of sand, or smaller. Hardly noticeable if you aren't looking for them. Any idea what the little bastards are?

Did some searching around... Did you look into predatory mites? You might have those. In which case you just killed money. These little bugs are used to control spider mites(eat), among others... I'm happy that one of my mothers has them and I won't be treating the plant with pesticides.

They were probably aphids or fungus gnats. You did what a lot of people do. They cover the top soil with Diamitacious Earth or sand which prevents any adults from fucking on your medium and dropping larvae into your medium. The fine fiberglass powder cuts up their exo skeleton.

Predatory Mites are the shizznit!!!! If you had those then yes you just killed off your biggest protector. You can order predatory mite eggs online. You take the eggs and place them near the spider mite eggs and let those babies hatch. They will eat all of the mites and when there are none left they will eat eachother.
