Finally!
Got my new grow light! Traded old Xbox for it, have 4 flower bulbs 3 grow bulbs "one grow bulb broke" and a standard bulb in the t5 grow light with ballast putting out 40,000 lumens! Much better than my old one. Had to redo the entire grow room for the light and took out the babies so I had a couple pics taken and I got a couple new picks of the room as well and I am equipped with ona gel

the plants are almost out of the 7th week getting ready for the 8th week, will vegg about one or two more weeks depends on the plants and then time to flower, also got a timer for lights when ready for flowering. Comments people!!! Much appreciated

look good

and a single 5000K bulb in the mix don't hurt anything

tho bulb`s is`t that expensive, and even T5 do get old over time, they loose less power then etc T8 or T12 but they still need to get replaced every year or so, depending on how much they are used, look for really dark end`s, a sure sign of its time to change em, can easily loose up to 20% light intensity with old bulb`s so keep a eye on that

if it was me, I would do two things in there, one get a few meters of maylor and cover the walls, two make a scrog screen for them plants so your able to keep em with in 2-8 inch`s of the plants/Bud`s as biggest down side of tube`s is light penetration, they deliver great par light but need to be close to deliver strong enough light for weed/flowering

I aware of bulb replacement but always good to get a reminder, and the plants are not autos so I can make them taller by veggien longer. Then when they flower they going to douhle in size even triple and moving that light will be a bitch so trying to get even light distance for both. Also ima get a fire blanket from dollar store that should cover all the walls, sorta like mylar

they will work, like them emergency blankets from fist Aid kit`s I would then for sure invest the few bucks on glue on spray, but thats just me I guess :D a lot of tape can also work :D but yes you want some kind of reflective materiel on them walls, according to my light meter flat white is only half as reflective (at best) then maylor

DSC00853.jpgDSC00855.jpg

and if you have more of them new 5000K bulb`s I would consider to replace the 6500K when flipping to 12/12 the 5000K also have a good amount of blue but more yellow/red then 6500K IMO enough blue for flowering and the more yellow/red will help your Buds

and yes they should double/triple in size doing the fist 2-3 weeks of 12/12 also why I suggest a scrog, to keep em even and to fill out all the space under the T5s with plants/Buds

never used a scrog screen before

nighter had I, 4 Bamboo sticks and a pice of chicken wire

DSC01612.jpg

its all about keeping the plant from growing vertical and instead let it fill out the screen, with as many Bud site`s as possible in a even canopy

I'm being forced by heat issues to switch from HPS to a 4' T5 HO setup for flowering. I'm keeping that in mind as I grow the next batch to go under the new light. SCROG and other LST methods seem to me the best way of making the most out of the florescent lighting as it doesn't have as much light penetration as the HPS. You light is beautiful and in my opinion perfect for a nice SCROG.

yea its all about keeping them Bud`s close to the light, one way or the other, as with all artificial light, but even more with florescent light

as I think I already did mention ? my light meter only show really strong light at 2-6 inch`s from 6-10" they still receive ok light, but after 12" I don't get much reading

I fell in love with it first time I saw it and couldn't be happier with it. It's got the ability to do both vegg and bloom with proper bulbs so idealistically in the future I can order more bulbs so I have the right light spectrum for both grow types, also of I mix the bulbs like now it allows both red and blue spectrum the entire grow :) can't wait to start flowering

Measured the light above the plants at 7" inches but I was hoping to take in account growth during flowering, and if need be the plants are on removable shelves I can still lower them about a 12-18 inches if needs. Give or take

A good trick if you can't move your light is to get some books or shoebox and stack them so each plant is same height and sitting just a couple inches away from that light. Cool glad to see you got the new light! Plants will be happy.

I just replaced all the bulbs in my t-5's. Was really shocked by the price at my local hydro shop. They wanted around $15 a bulb. Ended up ordering a case (25) off of Ebay. Price came out to about $4.50 a bulb and free shipping !!

You may pay 15 but your also supporting local shop.
agree, great attitude, I do the same, with most, specially stuff like nutrients and soil aso. but there is some things they just cant compete with, and I don't mind paying a few bucks extra, they are also to talk with, on prices and often trow in a freebee or cut of some to make up for it, but not 3x the price, specially if we are talking replacing 8 bulbs at 15$ a pice, they should be able to be more competitive or stay away from selling the electric parts etc

I also orderd my T5HO tubes online, even cheaper the the local electric shop (my grow shop don't sell tube`s) and I could get 6500K witch the electric shop did had, plus free shipping, directly from Philips Europe (from holland I believe) 3 work days and I got em nicely wrapped
