how soon after my seedling has opened its first set of fan leaves can i begin fimming? could i do it after the first or second sets?

im still confused though,
what is the earliest stage you can fim at?
since your going after the very small developing nodes to begin with can i do it after my first set of fan leaves?

the first page of the first link says:
Locate the very top of your plant and cut through the main stem just below the newest growth. This should be done after the 3rd or 4th leaf set but can be done at any time after the 3rd leaf set.

i would follow this advice. you are cutting off the top node to produce 2-4 new top nodes rather than going after the very small developing nodes.
