FIM'ing (stands for fuck, i missed) is a pruning technique similar to topping.. the difference is with fimming you are only removing the very most new growth of the plant... at the end of the branch.. where the new growth is coming in will be a small bud (not a bud bud.. but a growth bud).. you remove about 80% of that and you have fim'd..
where as with topping you are physically cutting the plants top completely off...
fim'ing takes a lot less recovery time and is a lot less stressful.. and sometimes you can end up with more than 2 tops..
personally i fim and supercrop my plants... when i fim i just pinch the new bud growth verse cutting it.. the uneven pinching has lead me to get 2, 3, or 4 tops even...
