FIM Job - Hit or Miss

I thought this would be a good thread for anyone trying to FIM their plants to post pictures for feedback from those experienced in FIMMING.

I just attempted my first FIM and was curious if I did it right.. or "Fuck I Missed"

For those who dont know what FIMMING is:

Ill post pics tomorrow if it opens up some. I watched a few videos before I did it.. and most people seemed to cut to low.. so I think I had that in mind lol.

If I did cut too high.. it is still possible to recut it to get it right, correct?

I think what you did should work. it looks similar to how I made my cut. And I got three tops coming out of mine.

Check my journal in my sig.

And remember you learn from mistakes (: happy growin' :peace:

I hope so (: Itd be cool to have gotten it on my first attempt.. but like you said.. mistakes are made to learn from.

Ill post pics up once it starts showing what the outcome looks like.

+REPS to both of you for your quick responses

If might be a few days before she starts to grow again, topping and Fimming are pretty stressful events :P

Here's some encouragement for patience. It doesn't take much to make a drastic difference. It just takes time for the plant to decide what it wants to do. I somehow managed to get 4, but 2 were decidedly weaker than the others.

Good Luck! And keep experimenting.

Thats exactly how mine turned out.. but you got 4 :P I got 3..
but I clipped a very small amount with toe nail clippers :P

If I didn't take pictures I probably wouldn't even remember how I did it. But, yeah, I never understood why you would do the let it grow 6 nodes then cut it at 4, I don't have time for that, sure the root system would be more developed, but I get enough roots without waiting.

lol I cut mine when it had about 4 nodes, and it is doing fine. I really dont think it matters when you do it.

Its now 23 hours after fimming and where I cut is starting to open up and there is definitely a little node growth starting right below the cut.

I was also wondering what happens if you cut to high up and the fim didn't work? that happened to me, and I just recut it a little lower. I didn't really want to, but I also didn't want to lose any more days to waiting and wondering....so, I think what I ended up doing, was trying to fim, and ended up topping. hope that 2nd cut didn't fuck things up tho....I never had to do that before....has this happened to anyone else before? do I need to worry or will it be resilient as a weed should!?

I disagree with the drawing. I FIM where the drawing says "New branch points...". Looks like you are below their line too. BigSteve.

I tried to fim and all I ended up with was leaves with no tips. I thought something was eating the leaf tips, then I remembered I tried to fim

I like the fact topping gives a more positive feeling.

I am battling some snot in my DWC on my current grow but I am mainlining this grow and I think it is turning out brilliant
