Filter for intake fan ?

Hey guys, was thinking to maybe add a 6 inch Hyper-Fan to pull in some fresh cooler air. Now is it essential to ad a filter to it ?

What type of filter would I need ?

Would this be it ?

Circulation at moment is decent, but I do think it could be better. Temp and humidity is pretty stable

Now if I do add it not %100 sure. I do have two intake vents.. But would like to maybe have the extra gear on hand incase I need it down the road.

I got a 4x4 tent, with an optic 6 led. I have noticed once you switch on the bloom enhancer it does bring up the temp a bit.

Indoor growing is all new to me, as previous history is all outdoor So trying to learn as much as I can as I go along.

I like dust shrooms.

If you run a super clean grow and don’t bring pests in on your clothes it’s essential. But if you’re like me and garden in your yard and then just walk in with your same clothes anyway what’s the point?

Well I guess an intake filter is super cheap anyways, so might as well have it on hand. Plus hey the extra caution wont hurt

If you blow in powdery mildew spores, pollen, bugs, you will wish you had that filter. The dust shrooms aren't cheap but they are durable and they catch everything.

Ya very true. Is the can-filter the type I would want ? The intake filter one ?

You dont need an intake fan for a 4' x 4' tent. A passive intake with a filter will be all you need. You need to exchange the air in your tent 8 - 10x per hr, or 8-10 ach. A 4" exhaust fan rated for 180 cfm will give three or four times the air you need, and more than enough oomph to pull through a passive intake. I'd put a fan controller on the 4" fan and run it 1/2 speed.

I’m currently useing a 6” fan with 5” filter in a 80x80x160 and my temps are like 30c and I’m useing passive I just leave the back mesh flap open but obviously having temp issue any help on this thanks

You need one of these… google 6" hepa filter.

6 inch fan with 6 inch carbon filter both by Vortex

I just checked temp: 23.5 C with 53 % Humidity. I do have the aircon in my room running 24/7

So essentially there really is no need then for anything else ? Everything seems stable to me.

I also have a 9 inch wind devil floor fan, with an 8 inch clip fan over the canopy.

I second the notion that you should have no use for an intake fan on a 4x4. Better to condition the environment it sits in. If you absolutely must do it I'd get a cheap in line for $20-$30, not a Can, and I certainly wouldn't slap another carbon filter on it. Way overkill. But that's my opinion based on my grow, conditions, etc. Your needs may be different, yadda yadda. Just know it can be done for less than the cost of that Can fan and carbon filter.
