hehe, yep. I played the I.T. game for a while. Politics got the better of at the University I was working at. I was a bit of a security geek.

in fact, i was so bad...they wanted me to join the student IT staff....my professor was an advisor on the committee....
im talking about....setting my computer to get static IPs instead of dynamic....so whenever they would be working on some hub or the DHCP server, i would still have my internet connection. it would suck for all other dorm mates, but not me and my roommate.
hell, we even built a 'can-tenna' so we could log on the library's blazing fast ass wifi!
we hacked our router to use the signal from the can-tenna as the internet and rerouted it over the router itself....
we was getting like 1.5meg/second dloads off the wireless network from our library!
talk about raping IRC! we'd get 1-5gig files in less than 20-30 mins.... wtf! the following year they caught on and shut down all ports.
of course we still found ways around it! i fucking LOVE IT!!!
