It's a little longwinded but.... here it goes

6' x 8' x 8' is my closet size. have a drip system...

how often should it be watered? 2.6 gallon resoirvoir under a 400W mH

pH is 5.8... was well above 7 until i got my test kit and my pH up and down

how far should the light be from the top?

I am using a variation of Water Farm by GH. It's a simple drip system. You can see it in my avatar. I am growing in hydroton clay pellets. About 2 weeks into vegging (and I had some pH problems.) The system is flushed and the pH is good. The light is about 20 inches from the top of the plant, on for 22 hours. Off for 2. i am using barneys farm feminized NIGHT SHADE seeds. I dont have anything to clone the plants with as of now. I am also using flora series. 5-0-1 and 2-1-5 just as the instructions say. I just dont know how often i should have the pump on. Some people say always, but I dont know!:confused::confused:

ok too easy....if you have a dwc setup where your roots are always in an oxygenated nute supply (which btw you seem to have that nailed down) and there isn't any rockwool under that hydroton then leave it running 24/7.

if you have rockwool or some other absorbent material (inorganic for the love of god) under the hydroton then water like an ebbnflow table. 2-3 times per lights on cycle for 2-3 minutes (need timers)

as far as the 400w mh you should set that baby as close as you can ~12 inches or so....take the back of your hand to the light as close as you can for about a minute and if it doesnt burn that's a good distance. so when you put your hand on the top of your babies for 30seconds to a minute it just feels warm not hot!

be wary of anyone on here that tells you always do this or never do that...ya know?
there are ALWAYS exeptions to every rule on growing depending on all the variables in your grow op! and there are NEVER any exeptions to that rule!.....:P

will you look up a waterfarm? its a bucket thats filled with hydroton rocks and it sits inside of a resoirvoir... the bottom of that little bucket or tub has holes in the bottom so that the roots can grow. i thought i had the light too close, but i will lower it. so with that info... how much would u water it?

if you have an air curtain or stone in the res then leave it on 24/7.....ok,ok i looked it up to be sure and yes what you have is great is amounts to a deep water culture...dwc...so leave them pumps a runnin' you cant drown em in a system like this. great buy . if you like it then you might wanna go ebbnflow....omg the production possibilities are only limited by you. down side to your system is if your pump stops running your plants will die very soon (in hours) but make sure you get a spare pump and air stone and you'll be fine. good luck

well im not sure what an air curtain is... all i know is that its a tray where the clay pellets sit and the roots are in it... then go thru the little holes at the bottom. i will try running 24/7 and see the results

you got it....an air curtain is a long rod with holes in it (instead of the compressed sandstone) that bubbles the site i seen your waterfarm on said you have an air supply so your good to go. the water farm is a dwc so the doctor calls for 24/7 nute solution. you should be in good shape and in ~4 weeks can sex/clone your girls....wooohooo
we gon gro us sum mary-jew-wanna

I have a couple of the Water Farm Completes. I started my seeds and vegged them in a dwc tote in hydro rocks and net cups. (pic with roots). When I transplanted them to Water Farms I cut a hole in the center of the bottom of the top bucket with the other smaller holes in it. I transplanted net pot and all and fed the roots down through the hole. This hole is to drop the roots down through into the solution and also run my air line to a 2 ft. air wand in the lower bucket. I keep the air on all of the time to oxygenate the solution and have run the drip ring for 15 minutes every 4 hours for 6 times a day for the last 6 weeks. Two of those were veg. Since the roots are directly in the solution reservoir, I don't think I need to run the drip ring as often.

Tip: Put the drip ring as close to the rocks or slightly buried so that none of the nutrient solution splashes onto the plant and burns it when it's watering.
