I increase 1/4 strength a week, until either tip burn, or at full strength. If you do see tip burn, give it a few days, maybe water with straight water, then hit it with that same dosage of ferts, just give the plant a little time to build up to a fert level. it may need it... if you still see tip burn, you should back off the strength a lil bit.

Each strain may require a slightly different dosage for optimal results. As a grower its your job to learn your plants and what they like, then give them everything that makes them happy. And cut out as much unhappy as you can.

One final question then i should be ready to start getting everything, i plan on germinating in paper towels, once they pop open can i put them into john innes no 1 soil or do i have to use a different kind of soil?

personally i use a 75/25 of perlite and promix. I use the little 1 1/2 inch round pots. you dont want to kill seedlings with nutes right off. give em a lil time to acclimate to the environment. then you can transplant those into bigger pots with a better soil. roots organic, happy frog, really seem to be top choices amongst growers. I have also heard cactus soil work really well, but have never tried it myself.

for germination the paper towel method has always worked good for me also. I once used a washcloth and it was really difficult to get the roots out of the cloth.

if your talking about those expanding jiffy pots, they have a white plastic mesh stuff over them that i do not like. I use a browm paper pot i get at the local grow store. and fill them with the perlite/promix mix, i use that for clones and seedlings.

I know some people like jiffy pots, but i cant stand em really. if do get a clone that is in one, i rip open the plastic mesh on the bottom, i feel its way to tough for a good root development.
