Okay, I'm gonna start off by letting everyone know I have 3 incredible beautiful indica dominant females and one Sativa dominant female.. The biggest one is a few inches over 4 ft. tall and quite bushy(the sativa) .. the other is about 4ft. tall .. 2 others just under 4 ft. They are one of the best looking plants I've ever grown .. anyway.. I vegged for about 2 months under well built homade reflectors with sockets built in.. I have 2 they are 3 foot long and 18inches wide and are hund on adjustable chains.. they have 8 (26) watt bulbs and 1 (65) watt in each reflector.. I also have 4 can reflector clip on spot light hoods which I have 4 (40) watt cfls.. all lights are cfl warm white.. I beleive..

Thanks, Chris

Okay.. I know that no one is going to beleive me .. but.. I have used fox farm and miracle grow and a number of other types but to be totally honest with my personal experience they are all the same .. its not so much the soil but the mix... I took straight up mircle grow potting soil.. (4 bucks at lowes) , perlite, and peat moss.. mixed it up.. about 55% soil, 35 % perlite, and 10% peat moss... and I have also used a number of expensive brands of nutes.. from the full line fox farm carrys, tiger bloom, big bloom, and the rest.. few organic liquid ferts.. but my favorite is the cheap ol' miracle grow all purpose plant food.. blue crystaline powder... 15-30-15.. I start em out with a 1/4 strength about 3 weeks into vegging on a water schedule of .. water, water, nutes, water, water, nutes.. then build up to full stregth a bit into flowering.. then keep it at the full stregth... It really takes a bit of touch.. you'll figure it out the more you do it.. It's an aquired skill not to over or under nute..

My plants always are tall and bushy... never and problems..

Just keep it simple, be repetative, solve problems quickly, be patience, and learn each and everyday..

I do love CFL's .. cheap.. efficient.. and no loss in bud quality... part of it is mylar and part in tin foil yes... basically no difference.. I've used both... Just use what you have.. no since in spending the extra money when you can use the resources you already have on hand..

Tinfoil is bad news. It creates hot spots that could damage your plants or even cause burns to your grow room in order for it to actually work as a mylar substitute it would need to be completely flat with no dents at all "almost impossible" mylar is cheap about 20-30 bucks for prob more then you will need OR you could just paint the walls white that will make for a 99 percent reflective surface.
I use mylar and solid white heavy duty plastic because it both keeps some smells in and also prevents any kind of bug from crawling in from a crack in the wall or floor and destroying the crop.
hope this helps.

plants look awesome fuck all that bullshit about get rid of the tinfoil. look at the plants its obviously not bad lol i use it to and guess what it was free and in the house on hand. i love how people go into threads with great plants and start picking out shit they think should be changed. if it aint broke dont fix it
