Female newbie here again. What the heck is going on?

Ok, so I was looking  at my (7) babies the day before yesterday...

BSG (Bag Seed Grow) #1,2,3 are all getting big. They were all upcanned 4 weeks ago into 2 gallon pots. They are now 8 weeks old.

BSG #4,5,6,7 were all upcanned less than 2 weeks ago. They are almost 7 weeks old. (Yeah, I know BSG 4,5,6,7 are a lot smaller than BSG 1,2,3 when they are only a week apart in age, because I was sick as a dog and didn't get to upcan them as soon as I needed to)

I first had them under 8 (4) foot T5's for 24/7 for the first 4 weeks. I then switched them to 20/4. Almost 2 weeks ago, I switched to 18/6.

Now, my first question is...how the heck am I seeing pistils on BSG 4,5,6,7? I mean, as you can see how small they are compared to BSG 1,2,3? In the first pic, BSG#1-3 are on the left. In the second pic, BSG #4,5,6,7 are in the front.

Here is a pic of the preflowers found on BSG#6

On BSG #1-3, I am getting what looks like new "leaf growth" instead of preflowers...

BSG #1.JPG

Is this weird or what? I would think BSG#1-3 would also be showing preflowers, but they aren't. Instead it looks like new leaf growth where a preflower should be. Any one know what's going on here? Thanks for any input!!!

Haha, your plants look wonderful. I would love to see compounding growth like that. Now top those girls and watch the puff happen. Those little leaves will be new branches and you will be ready to flower.

But they are all from the same bagseed...???
Doesn't matter. Not all plants are created equal and there may be different phenos with in the strain. It would be like every 2 sets of parents having the same identical twins over and over....kinda not really

Top them? Really? I was thinking about topping BSG #1-3, but I thought it might be too late. I have not topped at all.

Jack- thanks for the compliment!!!

Ahhh...ok. I am really nervous about these plants as the first one I grew (which was a loner) turned Hermi and that has been a challenge! I am worried that since the seeds all came from the same bagseed that all 7 that I am currently growing may all be hermies too. Here is a pic of my Hermie that is about 2 wks from harvest

You just have to keep an eye out and make sure you are not stressing them as well. Also, it looks like you got a good yield off your last one and have HID. Time to invest in some genetics!

It is actually a 600w HPS over the Hermi, not a HID. Can't wait to get the (7) others under the HPS too and go 12/12. I am going to use the T5's for side light and hang them on a slant / I kinda got carried away sprouting too many plants...as it will be only me who will be enjoying the smoke...looks like with all these girls... for years to come LOL

Hi. I'm a male.

Some of my best plants ever were bagseed. But generally bagseed is hermi pollen unless there are only one or two seeds. Hermi flowers are a little more stealth and tend to pollenate more because they go undetected. A male plant is usually discovered before much if any pollen has been spread.

ROFLMAO about the "Hi. I'm a male" part. Good one. Since 95% are males on here...I always seem to get someone to help me. It is like Alaska on here afterall. The ratios of women to men in Alaska are like 30 men to every 1 female...

I guess we have to see what happens with the (7) I have vegging right now. It is possible that they are all hermi too. I have been really diligent in removing any male parts when they pop up on the hermi. It was tedious with just one hermi plant, can't imagine what a pain in the ass 7 would be. Hey, at least I will be stoned on what the hermi gives me if/when I have to tackle the 7...LOL

If you top it that high, it will be bushy. If you top it lower, it will produce multiple colas.

refer to Uncle Ben's topping technique.

Thanks for adding that to this thread! I've actually read it before...but after 2 months in veg and having my last plant turn hermie, I have been nervous to do anything that may stress out my remaining plants. I have been thinking about experimenting with UB's topping methods for awhile, just nervous that I'll do something wrong... I learn a lot better when someone shows me "hands on" what to do, then I am good. Know of any good videos on topping a plant that is 8 wks old? That would probably help a lot!!! Thanks again for the response and the link

on #'s 1, 2, & 3 where ur seeing new leaf growth will develop into a shorter stem off the same node. it is also known as the elite genetic. not all plants carry it. it's something great to have is it increases potential yeild.

all plants once they're mature will continue to develope pistils where flowering nodes will be. or balls, or both if you just happen to get fu**** like i did.

but nice looking indicas!! keep up the good work.
