Female,Male and Hermie Genetics

Good evening everybody. I have a good point to make and I would like anyones input that has one. The majority of cannabis growers believe that a plant is pre-determined to be a male or female. About a 50-50 ratio. Just like humans or basically every other living thing. This would also be true for a hermie. It would be a hermie in seed form before it hits water and nothing we could do can change that, right? I hear that stress can cause a plant to hermie but how? If its true that a plant is pre-determined by genetics then a female seed will be female no matter what. see my point. Over the last 30 years of cannabis growing hasnt this been scientifically proven either way or the other. Like in a textbook or something? How can there be no definitive answer? Anyway what do you think?

folks get a hermie it's a light leak

plant dies it's cause they used MG soil

Just like in every day life folks want something/someone to BLAME

keeps getting repeated over and over

becomes a myth that won't die

it's just the way it is

I agree. I remember thr first time I grew marijuana I bought fem seeds from AMS and it was white widow. Talk about stress, I beat the hell out of that plant. I think the abient temp in the grow closet was 95 (lol) and right under the unvented light who knows. I over-watered then under-watered, changed the vegative light cycles, over trimmed her and after all that she still grew up to be a wonderful bud making momma. the pics are in one of my other threads. Ended up giving me 4 ounces of nice smoke. Think about cloning, every clone would turn hermie. When a cutting is taken it is brought very close to the brink of death and back. Now thats stress and how often does a clone hermie?
