Hey guys. I got pics of 2 of my babies (the one in the cup is not important, it just sits on the window side). its been about 11 days since i saw life sprouting outa the soil. its also my first grow so I have no idea the speed they are growing at but i got a feeling that they are going slow :/.

I'm more concerend about that one in the brown pot. I recently moved it from a cup similar to the one you see in the pic, maybe its in shock?

I guess i just want to know if the one in the brown pot is ok for 11 days.
This is only under x4 20w cfls, i know lighting needs to be worked on but its all i got for now..
any feedback will help.

well im pretty new to this to growing, but when i moved my plant from cup to pot, it slowed growth for about a week but still continued to grow

also, are you growing in the window? or using lights?

The one in the cup is just left on the window, the one in the brown pot is under 4 20w cfls

Yes you can use it for both.

But a switch between hps and mh is what most do.

I see some yellowing of the leaves... but am a bit too stoned to think...

check the plant problems forum for that..

id say you def need more light man, my baby is only 19 days old and is massive. check out my journal.

What soil are you in? Surprised to see the little burned tips at such a young stage; looks like they might be getting nutes they don't need, or light burn (?). As for size after 11 days, no problem -- the first couple weeks are very slow and if all's good, they take off after that.

once you see roots at the bottom tranfer to bigger plant pot i would suggest a proper light i got one on ebay £30 with ballast used but in good nick since putting light on them they have made a big turn around they are looking fantastic also put route stimulator in this will help the roots and help them produce quicker look on ebay for grow lights see Item number: 320345267872
these are excellent value and dont cost the earth torun i would also suggest 18 hours on 6 off til u see a change hope this helps :joint:

also tempature needs to be between 70 and 80 to grow well below 50 it will probably go in shock are you feeding nutrient and a and b formula thanks widdow sensation

Yes you can use HPS for both.....are you using nute's? Cause your plant looks nute burned.

nope, no nutes.
im getting a hps the week! im so happy.

ive been using cfls.. how far away from the plant do i need to put the hps without burning

aslo, can i get the hps lights and just buy a mh bulb and swap the bulbs for flower/veg?

or i need 2 seperate lights all together?

you can get on with a conversion bulb... but if you dont have that you will need two different ballasts.

cfl's... when I did a cfl grow once i usually had them about two inches away each.

put your hand in between the light and the plant.

rule of thumb is that if it is too hot for your hand it is too hot for the plant.

and cfl's need to be as close as possible.

Your going to have to use a convertible metal halide bulp They work great but reduce your lumens a lot :(
