FANTASY NFL: Should I Start Matt Forte or LaDainian Tomlinson???

Matt Forte & the Chicago Bears are playing @ Carolina who has a shitty defense and has great potential to tear them up, so while Matt Forte is only projected 7 points I currently have him starting

LaDainian Tomlinson scored 27 fantasy pts last week by rushing for 155 yds & 2 TDS (almost had 2 more TDs but got shut down on the 1), so they are projecting 15 pts for him this week. While that sounds great, they are play the Minnesota Vikings which have a killer defense, so I'm worried that LT is overprojected and maybe even sore from his workload last week

Let's hear some opinions from some other NFL fans!

LT will probably have a tough time against Minnesota's defensive line. I'd go with Forte this week.

Forte, Carolinas D is retarded.
Agreed ... And we all know what Forte is capable of! Week 1 he had over 30 fantasy pts for going 40 yds rushing 1 Rush TD, 109 yds receiving 1 Rec TD

He has been slow since, so I've been waiting for him to go off on a weak defense since. I think this is the day. The fact that he's only projected 7 pts is a joke. He can easily get that in the 1st qtr with this matchup.

Here's the best part. I traded someone in my league this week. He wanted to do two things. 1) Pickup a better running back which he has a shitty lineup, and 2) Get some Greenbay players off his hands as he drafted 5 out of 14 players and would be screwed in bye if he didn't solve that.

So with that in mind I'm now in position to make the offer and find something that I want. He orig asked if I was interested in Dwayne Bowe (KC) or Nate Washington (TENN), both of which I'm pretty sure he picked up off of FA a couple weeks ago. And I knew damn well they are trash picks even tho they are #1 wideout options, partially because their QB's both suck so it's hard for them to get good targets.

Anyway, this is what I offer and he accepted:

I SEND:
-DeAngelo Williams
-Devery Henderson

I RECEIVE:
-Greg Jennings
-Brandon Jackson

PT value n schedule wise, I did help him somewhat. Williams will put up decent #'s, but trust me, with my lineup and the fact that I'm already undefeated, I will ROMP on people now that I have Greg Jennings on my WR lineup. We all know what Aaron Rodgers can do when he pulls the trigger. Jennings is also less of an injury risk than Williams.

Another bonus to this trade, I looked at Williams and realized that he goes on Bye Week 6. Funny enough, the guy I'm trading matches up with me on Week 6. So now his team will be worse than what it was pre-trade when we matchup, and I get a RB I'm not really using for a top WR in the league.

What do ya think of that trade?

I'm gonna go against the grain and tell you to start LT. Gut feeling.. I think he was projected well below his potential. Matchup definetely favors Forte on paper but I just don't think he's the back that LT is.

It's a completely different offense, and we're talking two very different styles ... Forte doesn't even have to rush. He can be the top receiver on the team and pull down plenty of short red-zone catches in a high scoring game, on top of his quickness for breakaway TDs.

I hear ya on LT. He's playing like his old self, FOR NOW. But I just know statistically speaking, the chances of him putting up repeat #s & stats from last week is low. So while he's projected 15, he may hit that and I'm fine with that and leaving him on my bench if he does I think. And the main reason for that is I will bet big money Forte can score over his projected 7, so now we're talking about an 8 pt difference between him & LT's projection, and I just think @ Carolina it will offer him so much upside potential. And then I have Johnny Knox as my 3rd string WR who right now is CHI's #1 wideout option and should be able to put up some good pts vs a weak secondary.

I think I'm convinced on starting Forte

Fantasy is so unpredictable, but the fact that LT is going to share his carries with Shonn Greene, and Matt Forte is the man in Chicago, plus the fact that he's due for a breakout game, and playing the Panthers, you've gotta go Forte. I've got a dilemma too. Jahvid Best against the Rams, Peyton Hillis against the Falcons, Cedric Benson against the Bucs, or Michael Turner against the Browns? I only need two.

Using my boy Michael Turner vs the Cleveland Browns is an obvious start. He's healthy again. Jason Snelling is no longer filling in for him (he's my fav young backup running back, tears it up whenever Turner is injured). And then I personally think Jahvid Best is one of your best options for playing him as a #2. Falcons D are gonna shut down Cleveland offensively, I think. Cedric Benson will be up against a D that just rested for a week on Bye, so they will be healthy & ready to crush.

Start:

-Michael Turner
-Jahvid Best

*Thx for agreeing on Forte! I concur with your reasoning

Turner and Hillis. The falcons(see week one matchup against the Steelers when they knew they had to run and still couldn't stop it.) can be run on and I thought Best was dinged with an ankle..

Yeah, that's a terrible assessment. Nothing at all like Dungeons and Dragons. You took the "fantasy" part of fantasy football and ran with it. It's almost like gambling, and I think that's the big draw.

Best was dinged but is ready to go. I think I may go with Best. Next year we need to start a rollitup league.

That's a fucking GREAT idea bro! I just told my brother about that. He's sitting right here and we both are looking to start up a Fantasy Basketball (NBA) League this year. He said he would love to be a part of the RollItUp League.

I will be the League Commissioner for a NBA League. Anyone that is interested in joining, please do the following:

Private Message me with the Subject Title: Fantasy NBA

Let me know you are interested. I'm looking for people who will keep their word to stay active & interested in their team the whole year. This WILL require needing to be set for a daily basis from end of this month til May. So this is not some short commitment, and would appreciate only gathering people on this league who are down with that. Previous league experience will make this league better as well.

Rollitup Status MUST be higher than Learning How to Roll

If you meet these requirements and wanna be a part of the upcoming NBA draft, hit me up!

Glad you're taking my advice. You should be happy with that in regards to injuries, matchups with opposing defense, ...

I have Atlanta Falcons D/ST on my team this week (Seahawks are on Bye, #2 D/ST, I start them), and from what I've researched I have a feeling they are going to hold their own against a weak offense this week, meaning your other options could be low. Detroit is starting to breakout scoring some decent pts lately, and they have very little passing game going on right now, leading to them leaning on a running game that will work to Best's favor. And again, you can't bench Michael Turner. He's a top tier RB.

DD is about wizards and warlocks and weird-ass childish shit. Fantasy football is about football, a tangible game that all of North America loves. What a retarded argument

I can't personally invest the time in fantasy basketball (or baseball for that matter). To much to do on the off days.. gotta shuffle around your roster too much. Plus I haven't watched the NBA for a few years...

Those are actually all decent matchups, although the St. Louis defense is better than people give them credit... plus Best just doesn't have the consistency. Hillis is blowing up, and Turner over Benson seems like a no-brainer to me.

Ya but lets be honest, that was straight AMAZING defense between the Bears & Giants. I have Amhad Bradshaw on my team, too, so I was impressed that out of ANYONE that could perform, he still got 133 yds rushing, some catches, and 1 TD. I'm sure you saw how he almost got a 2nd TD on a breakaway from the 40 or so, but one of the Bears defenders just came up behind and bunched that fuckin ball out and dove for it.

That was prob the best defensive game so far this season
