I would like to know if you can hook up a simple thermostate to a fan?I would like the fan to come on when tempurature go above 80 and shut off once the heat drops below this-its to pull cool outside air into a grow space to cool it down?Has anyone done this or can I purchase a simple plug and go thermostate from somewhere? Thanks gang/MM

hi,

You can place a simple relay between the thermostate and the fan to "invert" thermostate on/off pattern.
A simple thermostate will go on below your selection and shut off when over... We need the opposite. :P
It is really simple and cheap. (schematic will depend on relay/voltage used)

just my two cents... :) hope it help
sorry for my english :)

More than one way to skin a cat.

You can hook your fan up to a thermostat.

Companies also make thermostat "controllers" that you can plug into. The only recommendation that I have on this is, do not buy C.A.P. products, especially online. CAP products are poor quality. They have good warranties, but if you buy online, expect to wait a couple of weeks before getting your replacements.

There are also fans with built in thermostats.
