how much air would i have to move in a 3x3 tent to keep it cool? also would a 4" inline be quieter than a 6" i was gonna get the 6" with speed controller but was wondering if the 4" would do and be a lil quieter if i had that on a controller

this is the 4"

the larger fan with the speed controller will be the quieter and more versatile option with the added bonus of allowing you to expand in the future, running a larger fan at less than maximum rpm's should be quieter than a smaller fan running at max capacity.

peace, bozo

btw, neither of those fans will be particularly quiet, if you want quiet you need to pay for it and it doesn't come cheap.

i know i mean it dosent need to be silent im gonna build a box around it to help muffle it some would the 4" cool a 3x3 tent with a 400 watt hps also if i put the 4" and controller you think it will still be louder than the 6 no plans on expanding

here's a couple shots of my old budding chamber within which i ran a 400CMH in an air-cooled SuperSun II and my exhaust consisted of passive intakes and a 165CFM squirrel cage blower. ...and a couple White Rhino's i grew in it last year.

...and yeah, i think the 4" will work but i still think you'd be better off with the larger fan, even if you never expand, a larger fan running at a relaxed and slower than maximum speed WILL be quieter AND it will last longer.

...and you may surprise yourself next year and feel completely different than you do today, ...this way you'll be ready in that eventuality.

btw, here is a link to a guy who just harvested a run in a space almost the same size as yours where he ran 2 stacked barebulb 400s and he's now about 2 or 3 weeks into the next run and this one he's running a 600 above a 400, ...and all in a space similar to your own, ...expansion doesn't necessarily mean a larger space, it can also mean simply a more productive space.
