I like to keep mine on to ensure that my girls are getting constant fresh air, they need it even if the lights are off.

which fan? inline fan or oscillating fan? intake/exhaust fan? depends on which it is.

Depends on which fan and your needs. I leave my exhaust on 24 hrs a day. I have 1 room fan that goes off when the
light goes off and another that gently moves air around 24 hrs.

It's more important to keep the exhaust on at night to reduce the humidity, which build up in the dark period. Fans are helpful too, but not as effective.

I leave the fan on 24/7. It reduces the risk of budrot and keeps the leaves from getting swamped by the gases they exude.

I keep the oscillating and exhaust fans on 24/7.
The exhaust fan I have hooked to a Titan Mercury 4 so it slows down a bit during the dark cycle when the temperature drops.

everything for my grow goes on and off with the timers, unless I am running my cloner..but no, I don't use a fan in the dark period

Huh???....leave all fans on 24/7 throughout the entire grow..your plants need the fans for a few reasons..fresh air exchange and the wind on them help build a stronger structure..

doesn't matter, really you should leave the fans on to exhaust the gas they exude and lower the temps to help them flower. i turn off my oscillating and leave my exhaust on at night.(actually it only come on 3x at night for about 2 hours ea.)
