Cheers mate. Should I up my nute strength if she is dropping the ec,ppm this quick in 10 hrs ?

I use my ec/ppm meter to signal and mark ec/ppm changes and levels....

I decide on target nute levels based on the plants themselves, which has a reasonably short learning curve (2-3 grows), and to some extent, the recco of the nute company i use.

After 6 real nodes, i start ramping to 2.0-2.2 ec; i tend to do it in .4-.6ec bumps; as soon as i see clawing or tip burns, i suck a gal or more nutesoup out of the bucket and add back an equivalent amount of water, then hold it below the burn ec/ppm until the plant looks like it’s grown some and is ready to ramp again.

Some plants go all the way to 2.3, some get barely halfway. RH conditions play a big role in this.

Ok cheers. Atm my VPD is 1.18 which is just in the range for healthy transpiration (late veg/early flower .8-1.2)

Got pulled away...just to finish...i don’t adjust until ec drops .2-.3 at the earliest...

Plants go thru an adjustment period when any major variable changes...i like to spread out these adjustments a little, to reduce distractions from growth...being under your target a little doesn’t hurt.

Day 46.
Up potted soil plant Into 10 gal fabric pot and gave a soil drench with my organic tea brew. Will give it 14hrs to settle in then will re apply her branch tie downs
Dwc plant is feeding well with ppm dropping, water dropping & ph slightly increased.
In 48hr it has gone from 880ppm to 770ppm, 5.8ph to 6.1ph and water has dropped.

Day 47.

Soil plant took to the new pot fantastic. Decided to do a heavy defoliate and pinched & bent most of the branches on both plants. These plants seem to love all the abuse I can give them. Looking at flipping in 5 days so they still might get another defoliate again before flipping.

Dwc plant has been drinking well so I added a top-up of about 3ltr water with nutes(1.5ml/1ltr of the trio). Brought the ppm back up to 870ppm and ph'd down to 5.8.

Day 49.

Plants seem to have bounced back from the big defoliate & hst 48 hours ago.
Dwc has been drinking & feeding. Dropped from 880ppm down to 770ppm in 48 hours.
I will probably change the dwc water & mix up a stronger soup mix tomorrow after work in preparation for the transition to 12/12. I will give it a day cycle then will have lights out for 24 hrs then go to 12/12.
I am still undecided when to run the 12hrs of light. I am at work for 10-11hrs per day so am unsure to run the lights during the day or at night.
Soil plant hasn't had anything yet since the transplanting soil drenching, so tomorrow afternoon I will also soil drench with my organic tea brew which is aerating now.

Day 50.
Plants are on their last cycle of 18hrs of light. The lights will turn off at 9 am. I think I am going to run the 12hrs light on from 7 pm to 7 am. Now should I just give them 10hrs of dark then start the flowering cycle or should I give them the 34hrs of darkness?

Edit: or should I make this current cycle end a 7am then dark for 12 hrs then lights on at 7 pm?
I gave the Dwc girl some fresh soup at 1320ppm(1.9ec). Mix was 12ltr(3.17gal) water @72ppm - 8ml calimagic- 16ml each flora trio- 25ml cannazym- 3.6ml h&g roots excelurator & 1.92ml Mammoth P.
I also soil gave the soil plant a soil drench and it took a bit over 7ltrs (2gal) of my organic tea.

Do the switch to 12:12 how you want, i don’t do extra dark hours.

Your plants look great, but i’d boost dwc water temp to 68F, this is best tradeoff of temp for good root development and high molecular oxygen...

Yeah I have let the temp naturally come up overnight to 64f. When I chilled my water down with a frozen water bottle before making the new soup , the temp sensor on my cheap tds pen must be dodgy as I chilled it down to 65f. When I placed it in the tent and put the blu lab monitor in it it read 54f, so I added some lukewarm water to bring it up a bit.
I ended up changing my timer before work this morning so the lights go off at 7am instead of 9 am, so I am officially on 12/12 now. Hopefully everything goes as well in flower as it did for me in veg.

I raised the light a little bit and upped the watts a touch to keep the same lux/ppfd at the canopy. The soil plant is a couple of inches lower than the dwc plant so if need be, in a few days I will lift the soil plant to keep the canopy even.

As does yours . She’s beautiful btw . This is my first dwc too . Boom or bust . I met cool ppl and leaned way more then I could imagine in the short period of time .
Yeah definitely. When I 1st tried to grow indoor over 20 years ago in a growtron, I was just flying blind. There was very limited info on the web and it was just trial and error. I failed big time. With so much info these days on the web and forums like this, and there are so many people that are willing to pass on tips ect from there own experiences so it takes all the guesswork out of it. What I have found if you get your environment right and have a guide to follow (light intensity, temperatures, humidity & ec/ppm's) and keep those 4 things within the parameters, everything goes as it is supposed to be. I have been following the Fluence Guide as recommended by Or_Gro and have had no problems at all.
I guess that is probably why I am going so well atm. I have done a shit load of research myself as well over the last 6 months to get where I am and have been lucky to get some excellent guidance from people like Or_Gro, Randomblame & Tbone and I thank them immensely.

Day 52.
I slept in but got up just before 7 am lights out to take a few pics.
I also topped up the dwc with bucket with 1.2ltr(1/3 gal) of the extra soup that I had left over to bring me back to the original water level. (I makeup 12ltrs (3.17gal) at a time and only put 10ltr(2.64gal) in the dwc bucket.
I can't believe how well the soil plant is going against the dwc, it is just powering on.

I hear ya bro, the help and advise dished out by a few of the crew is simply invaluable, if you get some good advise it makes all the difference with the amount of BS floating around. The only reason I miss GC is for the Tboner, why he not here?
