Great way of keeping in touch with people you haven't seen in years...? Buy cool shit people don't want on Marketplace....? Promote your made up business with Pages Manager...?

No, dumbfuck, it's nerological heroin, a fucking kidnapper gaslighting you into thinking you should hang out there!

Post a full frontal naked selfie on Faecesbook and you get locked out for a month! That would never happen here!

Go on, prove me wrong!

Fucking Fückerberg has had hold of me horns.

We all need positive affirmations right? That little ego boost, endorphin hit of a 'like'? Yeah, well that toss pot has made an artform of it. Made us forget where we came from.

Shocking it is.

I thought I asked for nude selfies?

S'up Growan?! Good to see you. I concur, FB sux ass. Last time I posted something was over a year ago, and I shut off all notifications. I just don't care about the minutia of others' mundane lives, I guess that makes me antisocial. Sue me...

i'll hop in on this.
all social media, including this forum is poison(in my opinion) and in a way, addictive, and brainwashing.
most social medias/forums/everything now have features where you can like, and follow, share, ect.
now, when we, the users get these likes, and follows and shares, we LOVE it, so our brain gives us dopamine, as a reward because we feel as if we're satisfied, as we're gaining this high status on the internet we oh so dearly want and need.
this makes people do anything they can for views, likes ect. from spending money, to ruining friendships theyll do it.
this is what makes generations below so different compared to the most recent, i think.
i'm saying this, but i'm still apart of it as well and i'll fully admit that, with confidence.
it's very controversial weather these social media CEO's have done this on purpose, or if this was all just a big coincience. either way, they are well aware of how they brain's neurological chemistry works now, and know that there's a good majority of the world completely hooked on their platforms.
i personally believe that the bigger social media platforms noticed the trend, and made more and more platforms that's why we have so many ran by the same guy. i think it started with facebook, myspace, and youtube, they noticed how it worked a bit more, so they decided to just make more and more so that they can reach out to different people with different styles, and personalities, like instagram, snapchat, all of that.
anyways, i needa pack a bowl after this one.bongsmilie

What happened to poking? I used to get poked all the time when Facebook was fresh and new....did it just go out of fashion?

It's incredible the hold social media has on people, that Aldous Huxley thing is spit on and @min0r has hit the nail on the head....

It's a useful tool in its own way....but man what a way to loose hours in a day....

it's the reason why kids these days are so self concious. 7/10 times a kid that has depression/anxiety more then likely posts attention seeking/approval seeking posts all over the internet. because that's what its made them into, and it's sad that they can't even help it.

I shut that shit off over 5 years ago, dont miss it a bit. Nothing like that lasts forever, it may take another 10 years but everything eventually go out of style and is replaced by something new.
