The photo was iconic and revelatory, they might as well have been wearing war paint and carrying spears.
in so many ways. that the mentality of 16 year old would consider a Disney dress the pinnacle of her high school career. it's as if she never evolved past elementary school years in her mind.

After white students displayed Confederate flag at school, Black students suspended for planning protest
Black students were suspended from their high school for planning a protest after another group of students came to school waving a Confederate flag.

Last week, a group of students at Coosa High School in Rome, Ga., were filmed waving the Confederate flag and hurling racial slurs.

Newsweek reported that the four students filmed were carrying the Confederate flag in favor of "farm day" on school spirit day, which led up to homecoming.

They did not face any repercussions.

In response, many students said the school did not do much to reprimand the students carrying the flag; and there was a protest planned to bring awareness to the problem, CBS 46 Atlanta reported.

However, the school administration suspended several students who were planning the protest. Student protesters tell CBS 46 that only Black students were suspended.

"The administration is aware of tomorrow's planned protest," the administrator said over the intercom before the planned demonstration. "Police will be present here at school and if students insist on encouraging this kind of activity they will be disciplined for encouraging unrest."

Two white students participating in the Friday protest were not suspended, even though they claimed to be as disruptive as the Black students, CBS reported..

In Floyd county, where the county the school resides, Black students made up 8 percent of suspensions in 2020, CBS reported.

Six percent of students with two or more races were suspended, followed by white students at 4 percent and Hispanic students made up 2 percent.

According to county data, Floyd County is made up of 70 percent white people, with 14 percent being Black people and about 8 percent Hispanic people.

84% of Trump voters worry about discrimination against whites and think Christianity is under attack
  • 84% of Trump voters are strongly or somewhat worried about anti-white discrimination.
  • An identical percentage also think Christianity is under attack in America, according to polling.
  • "Trump voters are deeply and personally animated by... anti-immigration sentiment," the report says.
New polling released today by Project Home Fire in partnership with University of Virginia's Center for Politics has found that Trump voters are animated by concerns about anti-white discrimination and the fate of Christianity in America.

"American racial and ethnic politics have reached their breaking point," begins the report, contrasting Biden voters' views with those of Trump voters.

"On the one side, Joe Biden voters see systemic racism in America as a serious problem," the report says. "Donald Trump voters are on the other side of Biden voters on each of these issues, and by large margins... they worry that discrimination against whites will increase significantly in the next few years."

The polling found that 52% of Trump voters said they strongly agreed with the statement, "I worry that discrimination against whites will increase significantly in the next few years," a figure that rises to 84% when including those that somewhat agree. An even higher percentage, 61%, strongly agreed with the notion that "Christianity is under attack in American today," which also rises to 84% when including people who somewhat agree.

Meanwhile, Biden voters largely disagreed. On both counts, only 38% of Biden voters strongly or somewhat agreed that anti-white discrimination is a problem and that Christianity is under attack. 91% of Democrats strongly or somewhat agreed that "system racism in America is a real and serious problem."

Further polling conducted by the group revealed just how tied to immigration Trump voter's concerns were; upwards of 80% of them strongly or somewhat agreed that they were worried about paying higher taxes due to illegal immigrants using healthcare, welfare, and education resources. A similar percentage were strongly or somewhat in agreement with the notion that they would "suffer personally" from the US being more socialist as a result of immigration.

That's close to the core of the problem there, is being raised with an advantage and thinking that's the neutral baseline of fairness, then losing some of that advantage as we shift towards actual fairness, and it feels like you're then below the line of what's fair.

Edit: I understand it, too. With how cutthroat the job market is out there, as much as I hate to say it, I'm grateful for the advantage I've had over the last thirty years and would not want to compete on a level playing field today, because the reality is...I'm just not special enough to be very successful in a fair marketplace.

And those feels are easily manufactured with a whole lot of trolling spam attacking you as a cat fishing idiot 'lib' and links to a lot of white angst clickbait.

It's stupid easy because the feeling is already in many people, but they aren't conscious enough of what's going on to sort it out, then someone comes along and provides a different explanation for that feeling and then they've got you, hook, line, and sinker.

Christianity, like Trumpism, is under attack, it's under constant assault by everyday reality, science and professional journalism. The actual truth is their biggest enemy and they go to extraordinary lengths to avoid it. They are not Christians and never were, their religion is that of a rationalization for slave owners and pricks in general. Christians don't get through the pearly gates by finding Jesus and by faith and faith alone, they make it through with out hateful baggage by attaining a state of grace. Christian theology 101, God judges you by your thoughts, words and deeds. You won't get in by declaring yourself in front of the congregation, rolling around of the church floor, or thinking you've got yer ticket to heaven pre-punched. No Hitler wouldn't be in heaven playing a harp along with the Jews he murdered, by finding Jesus, just before he blew out his own brains while chopping down on poison.

You think all this crap will end before everyone on this site passes away?
I have better luck trying to get along with people then I do trying to piss them off.
Thank Goodness cannabis mellows us out.
Happy Thanksgiving you turkeys. :-)

If we stand against it shoulder to shoulder, it’ll end sooner and with less violence.
