Extremly small seeds in weed

Yea, its a cookie cross, super pretty tho, a few colas late in flower with one tiny dark green seed at the tip of the main, so nothing crazy, its still fire... but imma experiment with lowering the light intensity...my deduction from research here and elsewhere is heat stress. I'd never read that abt the ovaries tho....thanks for your reply

Mate, it's not you honestly! This is something which started a few years back with the odd batch of weed. There'd be tiny little "pips" that were too small to remove. I call them "pips" because it doesn't matter how long you let the plant grow, they never actually get any bigger than poppy seeds! Once the bud is dry they just break up and most people don't even notice them. Partly because everyone uses grinders now, so they don't feel the weed between their fingers as it crumbles. None of the dealer-growers will acknowledge it because it's admitting there's a problem with their product. Plain and simple! So everyone is ignoring it or acting like it's no big deal. It is! It makes the weed taste disgusting and it burns my nostrils as I exhale. And it 100% makes it much weaker than it should be! I'm not prepared to just accept that this is how it is now. I've been growing on and off for 25 years and this doesn't happen at all with my outdoor grown bud! I spent a year buying different hydro from every dealer I could find and every strain under the sun. By last year it was ALL full of "pips". All the weed. All the dealers. I personally have grown weed from every reliable breeder out there and it all ends up full of pips. They develop immediately as the buds form, inside every single calax, and they never develop into proper seeds or anything even close to a seed that you would grow! Just silly little pips!!!
My conclusion after several years of trying different bud from different dealers, and growing different strains from different breeders...The one thing that has changed across the board in the world of cultivation is the lights! The LEDs. It's not the tents. People have been growing in tiny enclosed spaces for decades without issue! It has to be something to do with the beam. I can't see any other possible conclusion?
I'm going to spend a decent bit of money for a high quality CFL lighting setup and a decent uvb lamp.
I'll let you know how it goes brother

Been wondering what them little shits where from, My pips are flat and very small need a loop to see them.

Hello! I just subscribed to this forum diving on the internet about this subject
Just harvested some zkittlez x runtz feminized seeds and one feno from seed under HPS full of this little pips.. This is a fucking mistery but I think probably its just some weird kind of mutation because you don't see any nanners around… anybody had this issue using the same clone he has used without having this problem in the past? In that case my theorie wouldnt have any sense

Pretty sure duke diamond was talking about this in a recent potcast episode, I may be wrong, I’ll have to re-listen, but I thought he came to the conclusion that’s it’s just certain genetics and didn’t go much further than that.

Doesn’t really explain anything I know, but clearly not an uncommon occurrence.

I’ve seen it in certain strains and I’m an HPS/MH relic, so it can’t be the LED’s, perhaps heat… my hunch is genetics.

I cant agree with thats due to some nutrient related stuff… I grew like 5 different strains from seed this time on living soil and only had this isue in some zkittlez x runtz reversal phenos so I still think ot must be some genetic related issue

I got some bag seed that a mini from some headband and grew it only got like an ounce and a quarter of dried bud. It was good but I had wanted to see how it would grow and it must not have fully matured.

Yeah I know what your saying mate, it’s a hard one that not many are seemingly discussing but many have seen…

It could be associated with certain genetics and the feed/inputs being used are what brings it out and accentuates the trait… purely speculation on my part… I’d love to know though.

this is not a new issue, i posted this with pictures on the coffeeshop directory forum under "wierd hermied bud in uk" in 2012 after i'd been noticing it for months before. i've not found bud without them since, i believe they've always been there n i just didn't notice before, i take them out of as many calyxe as possible when skinning up, u get a knack for it. Only buy weed with big calyxe or it takes forever. i think they're ovules. 13 years cali packs, uk grown from clone, uk grown from seed, dutch import etc etc etc, never had any without it for 13 years. nobody seems to know about it until u show them.
