Extremely few calyxes, what's wrong with my plant

For as long ago as I learned about the transition and have been trying to tell others about it. I think it is still one of the most commonly misunderstood aspects of the cannabis life cycle. Many Many indoor cannabis growers seem to have this idea that they are gods and when they switch the lights it instantly switches the plants to flower. This is one of the main reasons we see new growers posting all the time about why aren't my buds big and threads like this one. Its also a major reason that many new growers harvest to early. They go by a breeder saying the plant will take 8-9 weeks to flower, and then count flower time from the start of 12/12. But it doesn't start at 12/12 flip, it starts whenever the plant decides it does :), and then the breeders 8-9 weeks becomes much more accurate(even though they are notoriously inaccurate anyway).

have a plant that's day 16 in flower, it's been previously vegging for a little over two months. It was a tall plant so I topped it and then bent the main stem sideways allowing The main branches to start growing sideways. Now when I see other people's plants in flower I notice how closely their calyxes are and how so many of them are on a single branch. In my cases there's very few barely 6-7 on a single branch. Is this normal? It's my first grow and I feel so lost. Do calyxes get bigger and bigger? If so, how big do they get? Or new calyxes grow on the same branch?( because I see people with buds with what looks like 30-40 calyxes on a single branch!)

Ps sorry if my questions sound stupid. I'm just trying to learn.

Lol, it’s all good. You’re just starting preflowering. Looks normal.

Assumptions don't help anybody. Nobody said I was playing God. I have done extensive research before starting my first grow and I do everything by the book which is why I was able to make clones even if I haven't finished my first grow. I know how flipping works and I clearly mentioned it was a bag seed. Taking that into account i wasn't sure what the calyx are supposed to look like and in my case I wasn't sure it was indica or sativa which is why the calyxes looked odd to me.

This forum is get to help and expect people to help you, I'm sure we all needed it at some point and no one was born knowing it all so next time if you want to help please by all means do so and thank you so much, keep your crude remarks and judgment to yourself. Nobody is interested in hearing it.

Now smoke a bowl an re read what I typed to you. I wasn't being crude, rude, or a smartass at all. These other growers saw that and agreed % with me. I was trying to share helpful info with you.

Your response is what is very rude.

I took time to try to help you understand what is happening with your plant. You posted asking "what's wrong with my plant". I told you what your plant is doing.

It's great that you did lots of research before starting your first grow. I still do lots of research and I've been growing since 05. There is tons to learn about cannabis growth, just don't listen to the broscience. Look at the biology of the plants and you will be able to read what is going on with them.

But to say I'm playing God is mockery in my face which is why I said you shouldn't make assumptions about what I was trying to be. I wouldn't be asking for help here if I thought so superficially of myself.

When it comes to this, nothing trumps experience. I am still learning stuff and sometimes re remember or re learn something from long ago. New growers often don't know what they don't know.

That wasn't directed at you man. It was a general statement about growers that insist that biological flowering begins right at 12/12 flip. It also isn't meant as a mockery. I've been reading and talking with people about these plants for many years. Lots of newer growers especially don't realize how it all actually works. Not many new growers dig into the biology to understand the hormone transitions in the plants which cause flowering to actually start. I'm not gonna act like I can tell you every detail of it, I don't know it all by any means.

Sorry it seemed like I was mocking you, I was not at all. But you gotta understand I've had this conversation, 100s of times with new growers in the last 10 years. I try to word everything so it's easy to understand and doesn't seem rude.
