Extremely easy and cheap DIY outdoor/indoor feeder.

This is extremely easy to do and works very well. I have used this design for strawberries and tomatoes for years and it has increased my yields off of those way better. The fruits are larger and taste better. Here is the design with pictures.

1. Take a container (toilet paper rolls work well and are basically free) I use a plastic cup and punch holes in the bottom.

2. Stick the container about 1 inch below the top soil and fill it half way with rocks. Fill the rest of the cup with worm castings or bat guano.

3. Put some water in it every time you water. It will make a tea like fertilizer that will keep your plants healthy


Note: If you're worried about transmitting disease with the rocks for any reason, place them in the cup and water through it until you are satisfied with the cleanliness.
This also works if your plants need just a little more than their soil can provide. If you have a N deficiency you can feed with high N bat guano through this.

It is just a simple feeder for your plant. If the guano or castings are used up in the soil you can supplement it with this. Thanks for looking anyway

I usually do it during veg cycles with the worm castings and bat guano.

I have 3 now in half oak barrels an several others in various pots, kinda low on monies so I will have to pass on the poopz. I do have some good ole MG Organic Choice Garden Soil, maybe mix in some of MG tomato food granular. I'll keep ya posted on the outcome. Thanks again.+rep

hey joker i started some strawberrys from seed prob about a month ago they have sprouted with 3 leaves but they arent getting any bigger??This is my first time growing strawberrys do you have any pointers on what could be the problem?thanks bro and im going to give your DIY a try in the am

Are they in full sun? If they are in mostly shade they wont grow any bigger than about 3-5 inches. In full sun is where they grow like trees lol. If they're getting too much water they wont do so well either. Hope that helps. Weren't there people that tried this? How did it turn out for you? Did you like it and will you continue using it? I love this method for outdoor plants in the ground cuz you can't really just pour new organic ferts on some plants but this works well to easily measure doses too with a tea like feeding.
