Extraction

Hello all - newb here

I have recently purchased an older Precision 1lb closed loop extractor and am looking for someone with knowledge to help me set this thing up to get it running - I can send pics of system and am willing to compensate anyone who can help me.

Oh, and Precision is no help - they claim they have no information in this system even tho their name is all over the thing.

Can’t find anything on Precions loop extractor

I have been online looking - precision is no help they have moved on to bigger systems for professionals

the system is about 8 years old and I just need some help setting it up -

it in not like the 1lb extractors online

That looks like a nice extractor. Respect to the Across International vac oven.

It looks like you have the column setup. What is the shorter column with the large jacket for?

actually, that was connected where the column is now I set it up like it is just from what I’ve seen online -

the shorter one in the floor looks like it was made to hold dry ice?

You appear to have a variation on the Terpenator or Lil Terp design. The first is active recovery and the second passive. Did it come with vacuum pump and a recovery pump?

Morning guys - please have a look at the pics and let me know your opinion on if I can get this thing to run properly.

The only vacuum pump I have is pictured. If I will need another one please advise. Also, will I need a refrigerate scale for my butane.

Ah, okay. This is what I thought was going on. You run the butane thought the material. It collects in the lower column. You let it sit in a cold bath to congeal the lipids. You open the ball valve and it dumps into the splatter platter column below.

I was going to run a setup like this once, but My lower column was too tall and the whole thing ended up being over my head. (Height wise)

So the way it is set up is correct eh?

They are for running water though the jacket to warm up the column and force the butane out.

I used mine for the first time a couple of winters ago, but didn't have a pump. I thought it would evaporate, but we were having a cold spell and the butane sat in the splatter platter for days with the lid off. The lipids ended up separating and forming in bands, ruining the entire 60+ gram run. I tried to winterize it with moonshine, and that didn't work. I ended up throwing most of it out.
