Extra lighting?

Hi everyone,

So my currrnt grow is nearing completion and i now thinking forward to my second and improving my yeilds etc using knowledge i never previously had.

What i am thinking is again running two 600w hdi but alson adding some maybe 40w cfl low hanging towards bottom of tent to promote better growth for the buds beneath the canopy?

Would this be ok and is there any suggestions as to what sort of setup i should do? Im just basically thinking about adding extra light to the shaded areas cheaply.

Imo trim off all the lower garbage around the second week of flower. Training/shaping will net you way better results than adding a couple CFL bulbs.

Along with doing as you say would adding lights to the underside of the buds or even main colas not increase production? Sorry if its a dumb question im still learning and trying to get as much knowledge as possible. Thanks for your reply.

Yield is a direct result of your limiting factor. Once you step into the HID light range most of the time lighting is not your limiting factor. Always remember our measurement of yield should always be grams per watt of light used. With the technology we have available to us today going 1 gram per watt is fairly easy to achieve once you hone your craft.
