exposing buds to the light???/

I'm about 5 weeks into flowering and have lots of buds all over. Should I gently use stakes and ties to fully expose my bud under and around the main colas or leave well enuf alone? sort of a low key scrog thing?

Yeah if you can open the canopy to let more light into the lower bud sites then they will get more light.
So if you open the canopy to get more light, they get more light? lol (what kind of stoner answer is that?)

Yes dude exposing them to more light will cause them to be fuller and they will develop better and you will get more yield.

You should start defoliating the top half of your plant, during the last 2-3 weeks of flower. This will allow more light to penetrate the lower buds.

Don't ever defoliate more than 20-30% of the plant at a time...this is to avoid stress to the plant, which can potentially make it create seed pods.

This hobby is all about comparisons, so try doing this to some plants and leave others alone to see if it makes a difference. If you're not into experimentation and seeing results....then just do it and you'll enjoy a larger yield.

Agreed with potshop. I find alot of hybrid strains need to be thinned out a bit when they're really bushy in the end. If staking them open gives good light then don't bother pruning. Of course, always test it on a couple first to see how they react. Leggy sativas HATE pruning unless it's during veg in my experience, and there is no need to prune them.
