Do you guys know which mushroom is Amanita Muscaria?????? If not.....its probably the most famous mushroom used in photos, drawings...ETC......Its Red with white dots......known for its psychoactive effects?????

I don't recommend amanita muscaria mushrooms that's for sure. Stick to other shrooms. they're really easy to grow if you can't find any.

some people really like them though.

Well.....I am familiar with the toxins in that mushroom.....but I ask because last summer I was at a mechanical supply house and this contractor was talking about the rain and all the mushrooms that were popping up and he said its time to collect Amanita Muscaria....at which point i chimed in saying...I would stay away from that one if I was you...he responded by saying...all you have to do is peel the skin off the cap.....but what I didnt catch was ...do what with it....eat the skin or the shroom.....so I was wondering if its a bunch of bunk or if there is any truth to this.....so...throwing that out there?????

No idea bear but I collect any and all edible mushrooms I find. A little while ago I found 10 pounds of hen of the woods lol. I hear trippy mushrooms grow in cow shot here but I have no desire to look or eat them lol

Ya hen of the woods is common in my area as well....but other then Amanita Muscaria...I know of no other psilocybe mushroom in my area...a friend of mine told me that his brother would come visit and pick them of the cow patties but I have looked and to be honest I was not able to identify any of them as such...who knows what the f that guy was eating...lol What we dont get out my way are morels....I have seen only two patches out here ever...that was it....we do have an abundance of Kings...they love to hang out with blue spruce out here....thats a pretty good edible

We have tons of the Amanita Muscaria here. One time at the park we walked past a group of people who were eating them but I wouldn't eat them.

We have Psilocybin cyanescens here (seattle) in november I've picked once with someone else who knew about them. We actually found a ton on a vacant lot behind taco bell that has tons of wood chips everywhere.

Yep....thats her alright ( A. M. ) and a couple of nice kings. The Kings that come up out here ( Rockies ) are a darker red capped version but still the king bolete none the less.....I have still not encountered any psilocybin mushrooms out here but it could be that I'm not properly identifying them.....if your a experienced mushroom hunter you know the rule on little brown mushrooms.....you wouldnt want to mistake one for the deadly gallerina....Out on the west coast you guys get that liberty cap thats active.

On Mycophagy...................All mushrooms are edible, but some kinds only once!!!!!!! put another way.....There are old mushroom hunters and there bold mushrooms hunters...but there are no old bold mushroom hunters!
