Howdy folks. I'm currently between weeks 3 and 4 of flower. Running a water only grow for this lady (we'll call it amended living soil because for some reason I hate calling it "super soil") and I've got a 6 day business trip coming up in a bit under 3 weeks. I bought a starter kit from blumat with 5 carrots and accessories. Picking up a 10 or 20 gallon res for it on Thursday.
Just looking for tips tricks and feedback on getting these things set up and dialed in from people with experience. I'll be in the home stretch by the time I leave and the last thing i want is to come home to dead or seriously sick plants because my blumat setup failed due to user error. I've read over the instructions so I've got the basic idea.

Been using mine for about 6 or 7 weeks now.

Big fan, makes things much easier now that I have gone back to working 40 hours a week.

Follow the directions.

It’s possible that the small 3mm drip lines may have been compressed and sealed shut by heat and storage. Pull the 3mm line so that you’ve made it longer through the carrot, and roll the line between your fingers to ‘loosen’ it up, and make sure it isn’t blocked or kinked.

After you get it set up, open up the top of the carrot so that you’re seeing the steady stream of water, that way you know you’ve purged the air, and have no blockage. Then tighten up the fitting again to get that ‘hanging’ drop of water.

Go back and check your shit again an hour later to make sure you aren’t accidentally leaking or overwatering. It does happen, keep an eye out. Do it whenever you change your reservoir. I have had a couple of ‘minor’ leaks, the worst being about a 2 gallon dump. That was when I learned my lesson to check my shit whenever I change the reservoir and tweak the fitting at the top of the carrot.

Check your flow through your drip lines frequently to make sure you don’t have blockages.

@xtsho was the guy who got me started.

I have a 15 gallon reservoir that I refill with 12 gallons weekly to feed 8 plants right now.

I like this system so much that I bought a couple more carrots to set up in my veg tent. I’m setting it up right now.

I do have questions as well, and that is regarding flushing.

I just started week 5, and something has turned the leaves a weird dark color. I’m thinking that I need to dump 9 gallons of ph balanced tap water on these plants, and get them straight again.

Thoughts?

Lots of good info! I'll read through it when I get off work! Hopefully in the meantime someone will chime in who can answer your questions too. Thanks a lot!
