Excessive Heat Issue In Grow Tent

I have to double-check, but my lights have IR and-I think-UVB/UVA. Might be wrong about that. Thank you for posting this; I need to get a light meter to check my PPFD levels.

Does the information you posted change with indicas or hybrids? I noticed the graphs mention cannabis sativa, and imagine the difference (if any) is not significant, but would be curious to know. I'll have to look at that for interest's sake. I mention this because I'm primarily growing autoflower indicas which I believe are a indica/ruderalis hybrid. Anyway, something else to learn about!
Absolutely, there will be variance depending on genotype. They selected sativa to test, but indica may respond slightly differently. My main point was that all the genotypes evolved outdoors where 29C or 84F is a common occurrence.

Nice, which controlled power outlet do you use? Sounds very useful.

Also, three grow tents? Super jealous!
The ac infinity cloud line t6 with controller for the actual system which works great. The other system I just used a typical inline fan with added speed controller and plug that into model: wtc200 wireless thermostat. It was a life changer for that tent which had a run hot habit. Now my fan only kicks on at 80 degrees and back off at 75. Allows lung room to cool also and of course have a pole clip on fan to keep stuff moving. Humidifier or controlled air flow will solve for you. Happy growing my friend

To get more airflow and still keep the fan quieter you can change to insulated ducting and wrap a thick blanket around the fan or put the fan inside a silencer box. Then you can up the speed of your fan another level.

I was referring to the round vent holes at the bottom of the tent that are closed.
Oh I see, good idea! Will open them if the temperatures get out of hand again. So far, with the humidifier, they're holding steady! Very happy

Makes sense, they're slightly different genetically so I would guess the difference in growth needs would be slightly different. Probably no significant but worth looking into just for fun.

Thanks! Good to know.

Yup, I just did this with both the infinity 4" as well as the 6". I have both the inlet and outlet with r8 insulated duct and it significantly made them quieter without even wrapping the fan housings yet.

Automation is the shizznit!
Price for entry less than pizza and wings!

I got four of these https://www.cesmarthome.com/products/LA-WF7?locale=en
-They came in a 2 pack at Costco for $20(CAD).
-Also shows and tracks power usage
-Connects to wifi so I can remote control even if across the country.
-can create scenes and automation to trigger from other devices, conditions like weather, so if you want sunrise / sunset it tracks from local weather.
- free app, customizable labeling

Ridiculous!

Good timing, I was just thinking about smart plugs! Thanks for mentioning these. The Wyze Plug seems attractive as well, as I already use a few Wyze products.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to follow-up and let you know the plants turned out great! I kept the air moving with a few fans and the AC Infinity inline fan. Got 3 ounces from a 3-gallon and 2 x 1-gallon buckets. Not impressive for many here but for my first successful grow I was more than happy! Thanks for all the advice!

Here's an update with photos!

I'm having trouble figuring out if the oldest plant (Canuk Cookies) in the back, is suffering from heat stress, over/under watering, nutrient deficiency/nutrient toxicity, etc.

The Canuk Cookies plant perked up after a small watering yesterday. I lost my first grow due to mold (over watering + temps too high, is my guess) so I'm trying to figure out how to water plants properly. I'm now waiting until the top soil is totally dry up to my second knuckle before watering. Because of the heat, maybe I'm waiting too long though.

All plants, with the exception of the Canuk Cookies, appear to be suffe growtPh. The leaves appear okay but the growth is very slow. I'm guessing that's probably due to a lack of light. I'm worried about lowering the light again though due to previously mentioned heat issues. These lights run hot! Too hot. Maybe also genetics? The Northern Lights #5 (in front of the Canuk Cookies) was very slow to start but is getting bigger more quic

When it ones to watering/ over and under ,is pick up your pots and feel the weight. Lots of difference between a pot with water and without ! Forget that knuckle business as with air and heat the top few inches will dry out but below that will be sodden ! Picking your pots up is the best way by far ! Better than any meter even !

Thanks! Good advice, for sure. I've now moved on to Hempy Buckets so no more worries about overwatering :)
