Why do I see everybody planting their seeds in a small pot and later transplanting their babies into bigger pots?

Why not just plant the seeds into a bigger pot?

good question and thanks for the good answer i wondered this too i always go from "keg cups" to 1.5 gallon to 5 gallon never was sure why but i have considered cutting the 1.5 gallon out just to eliminate a possible stress but i know how important the roots are

^^well, never really thought of that one;)

it is really about over-watering and how to avoid it. fact is that you easily over-water a plant in a bigger pot than in a small one. especially noobs tend to do this. and this can be avoided by small pots since they are easier to check then the large ones. plain stupid basically:)

also use these lil pots less space up in the veg since about 50% of the plants vegged go to waste after first weeks of flower and so the entire vegging can be done on less space too;)

starting in a 1.5 gal pot isn't a good idea either:-?
seeds really shouldn't be started in anything bigger as a the volume of a normal soda can;)

this is after they have outgrown there 16 oz plastic cups which is where i put my seedlings I tried using the peat pots i dont like them
