:leaf:i have about 6 clones and one mother plant in my grow tent and i ever since i switch from fluorescent to my 600 hps light my plants have been showing signs of burns and a lot of the leaves dried up and curled a little bit and its ruining one of my biggest plants, is it reversable? i pulled the light way up high and i have two pics, one to show the leaves and the other to show the whole setup, let me know what you think if the lights to high/low and what i can do to fix this??

the first month the clones were in fox farm soil then they were transplanted in bigger pots with miracle grow.. and we use to measure the ph but i havent done that for a few weeks now but we use tap water and i haven't started feeding them nutes yet.. but everything was fine until i put it under the hps light then after a week i started noticing burns so i put another fan in there incase it was the heat but im not sure if that was it wat do you think?

Looks like slight nute burn, and imo ph problems. Stay ontop of your ph and do a flush.

should i use clearx?
i have ph up/down i have a hard time measuring it most the time so thats why i stopped using it cause i wasnt seeing any difference until i put it under the hps and how do you u measure the ph level in the pots? i thought you can only adjust the ph level of the water

Did you just tell someone to flush in MG soil? If it's one without a mixed in fert, that's fine. However, that's nute-burn central for most MG soils. (I didn't see a declaration of which soil it was.)

In what part of the plant did the problem start? Top 1/3, middle 1/3, or bottom 1/3?

so don't flush?
all my plants are in miracle grow soil and the burning started to happen on the middle and the top but its pretty evenly spread out all over the plant, it seems to be happening more on the sativas, the smaller kush plants show very little damage but im afraid of it getting worse, heres another pic i just took without the hps light on so you can get a better view

No heat damage is not reversible. What are the temps? get it below 80 and when you move plants from cfls to hps have the light up at least 4 feet to begin with.

mg soil can burn plants but no ph tester can as well. so can high heat and switching to high light rapidly, hard fans do it too. gd luck finding problem but i would transplant to ff or anything but mg soil. get on ph and make sure temps stay below 80. also makensure ur reflector has no hot spots.

what bulb? son agro?

i can see alot of reflective venting in a big mess lol that hot spot from it can be the problem. i would fix it

i had my friend come over and help me set up the hps but we couldnt find the exhaust fan so i used a small window fan do you think the poor cooling system for the light could be causing to much heat for the plants? i basically put the light up and high as it goes to try to avoid further complications but im still worried if it really is the mg soil

i thought that could be the problem ive adjusted it a few times but that vent iis so damn long and it isnt mine. i had a temp/humidity reader but i lost when my friend came over to help me with the plants( he might have just took it back since it was his) but usually it was 85//86 degrees with the fluorescent and the humidity would fluctuate from 31 to 35 the highest. im about to add some nutes to the plants for the first time today you think thats a good move?

if it was 86 when u had fluoros then it be 96 with hps most times depends if digital ballast and what not. low humidity and high temps isnt good. keep it below 80 if u can and raise humidity to at least 40% for good veg growth...guages are sold at dollar stores. i only feed seaweed the entire cycle and every 2 wks. best of luck

Your using a way more intence light , You will have to up your nutes accordingly as now there is far more photo activity happening within the plant....needs more ppm to fuel this...

thanks for the advice this is my first time growing so im still not familiar with all the terms n acronyms yet but what is ppm and how do i measure that? i looked it up says something about the water?
i fed it some nutes just earlier i understand what u mean with the whole new light causing a more intense photosynth within the plants that makes sense, i opened upthe tent a lot more so i get more of the cool ac air in there

thanks for the help i was wondering how do i go about raising the humidity in my grow tent? imma go buy a temp/humidity reader first thing tomorrow, but im just trying to do everything i can to help the plants out i cant really afford any ff soil at the moment. Wat do u mean about the seaweed you literally put it in there for nutrients in your soil?

mist the plants in am right before lights on will raise humid. i can go a whole cycle with no nutes and healthy plants with good soil but i normally feed liquid seaweed 1/2 tsp per gal every 2wks. roots love it

good stuff thanks a lot im a real newb at this but its goin all right. i fixed the duct problem i have it coiled at the top like u cant even imagine and i leave the tent cracked so plenty of cool air can get in, so far my blueberry hasnt started budding yet and barely has any burns should i give it nutes right now??

before you go junking them up full of nutes go immediatley and buy a hygrometer and a ph tester or blue lab meter if u got the xtra funds.. I can only imagine how hot it is in there.. get your temps down air circulating and let them breath for a bit. every post u make talks about adding nutes almost.. slow down take a breath and see what your dirt reading is..
