Evaping?

I evaporate my winterized ethanol in a Pyrex casserole dish. I've been using a lizard tank heater underneath it while under a ceiling fan on high. Seems to me that the slight heat is making my shit run away up on the sides & corners that are a BIATCH to scrape! Evaps pretty quick, like overnight, but not sure it's the best way to go.

Please lemme know how you guys do it!

It sounds like your dish is slightly higher in the middle and causes your extract to run to the outsides kinda like a gutter, all my dishes are like this...The answer is simple, get a square Pyrex dish instead because it's much easier to scrape the 4 edges of the square dish than all sides of a round dish.
Other than that your process sounds pretty good :peace:

6 inch petri dishes for the vacuum dome and flat glass serving platter for the open loop stuff.

To be honest, I never fully scrape my thin film pan, 9x13 baking dish, i get the 14 - 15 grams that is easy. I just wash the remainder with 190 and save in my winterization jar for next run.

My pan pools in the middle thus I get a puddle in the center. It doesn't get fully purged due to thickness but that lets me scrap it easily onto a silicon pad for vacuum purge.

I do the winter step, and if you want completely flat, you need plate glass, But, like you the wintering has left overs, filter paper, and other clean up. I just save that for the next run.

What I would really like to do is recover the solvent with vacuum, through a Graham Condenser. Then I will go with pure ethanol. $20 buck a 5th for everclear is just a killer in an open system, on top of $4 a can for butane.

And 5% water is another waste.

i scraped for a long time man, and i got sick of it.

I got a no goo dish now and i pour my winterized everclear into there, set it out at about 7 before i leave for work and when i come home its dry. (im running an oz at a time usually) and getting 4-5 gs

then i take it and put it on a 110F waterbath and remove it, let it cool a tiny bit, and begin gathering together be pressing / pulling the dish.
