Establishing a mother

What's the best way to figure out the sex of a plant I want to use as a mother?

Vegetate many plants to the size that you would want your mother plant to be, then switch your hours back to 12/12 and wait 1-2 weeks. Or the easiest and best way would be to just grow feminized seeds.

Thanks, man. Anyone else got another way or is that pretty much it? Would it be better to put a plant back into veg or take some cuttings to use as mothers while finishing the original?

yeah, pretty much the only way unless you have feminized seeds is to grow a bunch of plants from seed, flower em, pick a nice female and put it back to 12/12 and let her reveg for a week or 2 and take some clones and get er done! lol

not true. you can veg a plant to size then clone it and flower the clone to tell you what sex the plant it came off is.it takes longer but if you veg flower and then back to veg you have a higher chance of the mom going hermie

The truth? Just grow the thing out until preflowers show, then just make clones from the healthiest of the females.
