Do u have to see run off ?? Does the soil run out of nutrients I’ve been giving them a little bit of water soon as I see run off I stop watering and whatever drained I throw it back in
overall goal is zero runoff. runoff leaches out nutrients and microbes. just be careful and use good judgement. i was helping a friend get into organics and told him the same thing... no runoff. well he let his soil get too dry and it became hydrophobic. then when he would water it would go right through the pot and he would stop watering because of, you know... the runoff lol. well several weeks of this went by and i stopped over to check in and saw a dwarfed stressed plant and I was like WTF why didn't you say something. soil was so dry i cant even believe the plant was still living. after i set him straight, the plant recovered and he had a successful grow.

Ok thanks I pour water slowly in there to make sure it soaks in .. I ordered my soil on line when it arrived it was cold not wet IMO it will be ok if it cause condensation in a Tupperware??? I will be checking in though ....

He basically told my story there LOL
If you've got your soil in a storage bin just drill a few holes around the top of the sides for air exchange. I'd just not let it dry out.

Ok I’ll do that I just don’t want anything getting in there ..
Mines in my basement and I've got no problems, if it's outside you may have some guests show up but I'm not sure what harmful pests would show up.
Some ingredients in the soil may even deter pests.
Then again I think I live in an area that isn't as prone to some of these harmful pests as others, probably too cold here haha.
