Hi ppl this is my first post as im new to hydro-growing.Anyway i,m currently setting up a grow and would like to know if 400w of blue envirolites are suitable just for vegging? I,ll have a 600w hps grolux for flowering. Will the yield be lower if i veg with enviros first or wont it matter coz i,ll be flowering with hps.Sorry if this has been answered already but i cant find the info,i find posts saying enviros are suitable but they dont say how they affect the yield. Thanks in advance for any info,it will be a great help.

How many plants you got?
400 watt enviro's is that actual wattage or equivalent?
Yes blue enviro's are the vegging ones
I am led to believe m/h bulbs are the daddies of vegging but cfl's come in second. They wont have any affect on yield i shouldn't have thought, as all they are doing is growing the plant and making it nice and bushy.

good drainage Good vetalation (a fan to mve air around ) and with the HPS you'll have a good grow going best of luck

I bet you can get a small metal halide for the money you'd put into 400W worth of CFL Envirolites.

All fluorescents (CFL or plain ol straight tubes) are low-intensity light sources. MH will veg up denser, bigger plants in the same amount of time under CFLs due to the high-intensity light discharge. I'd swap a 250 MH for 400W of CFLs any day of the week.

Of course, you can reduce the amount of time, power and space invested in vegging by growing in the Sea of Green (SoG) style. Only the mothers get vegged; the clones get tossed in to flower as soon as they have some good root development.

thanks for all the info ppl,my comps bin down for few days so soz its taken so long to reply, werent being ignorant.Anywho i thought metal halide would be the better choice but i was thinking of the cost of running aswell, would there be much difference in cost?My setup is a 604 NFT grow tank, with a 600w HPS grolux lamp in a bedroom with a vent kit.At the mo im using this for both veg and flower growing from seed.I,ll post pics as soon as i can and thx agen for your help.
