At the same time, Brazil has a history of autocracy. I’m not convinced they’re paying serious attention to combing out innocent bystanders.

Or targets of political opportunity. So there’s that caveat on arguing equivalence.

what muck doesn't understand is that he is trying to appeal to two separate pools of people, who have drastically diametrically opposed views...
the people who are or were considering buying a tesla are exactly the type of people who are offended at his right wing fascist posts all over twitter...
the more he runs his mouth on twitter, the more people he will drive away from tesla...so i see tesla as doomed, because he cannot shut his mouth, even when he's already sunk nose deep in shit

My tesla saga came to an end this past weekend. I had continued with my service requests and they sent a dude out to turn it off and back on a few more times. Behold, was able to get out and google my way through some random trouble shooting from various forums and I am finally back up and running.

Still though, fuck you Elon. This was a trash experience and I would never use something related to his companies again.

Edit: we would die of starvation on Mars or whatever in his stupid spaceships.

Since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion in November, Elon Musk has been slashing costs at the company to free up money to help him pay off the billions of dollars he borrowed to finance the deal.
The self-titled “Chief Twit” initially declared that Twitter was losing over $4 million daily. Then, in December, after laying off half of Twitter’s nearly 7,500 employees, he predicted the company will “roughly” break even in terms of cash flow in 2023, but added that it will be “difficult.”
The extent of Musk’s penny-pinching has been closely followed in the media. And on Twitter, it has raised many eyebrows. Musk stopped paying rent on Twitter’s offices, leading to lawsuits. He stiffed vendors including for private jet flights taken by executives who previously worked for Twitter, leading to yet more litigation. And he started auctioning off Twitter’s office furniture now that there are so few employees left.
The latest on the chopping block is pricey software from Salesforce that Twitter employees use for tracking issues involving users and with the service itself, according to a screenshot of a Slack message viewed by Fortune. Twitter had planned to jettison the software, and the monthly payments that come with it, at the end of 2022, but amid employee pushback, the company delayed the plan by six months, according to a source at Twitter.
The employee told Fortune that there was no final word on replacing the Salesforce software, and it would be “silly if they aren’t prepared with a new system to take its place.” One option being discussed is using Jira, a cheaper ticket and project management service developed by Atlassian.
“Could be an [Elon Musk] bargaining tactic, too, like not paying rent,” the source said, hinting that Musk may be using the threat of dropping Salesforce’s software to cut a better deal.
The source added the company has “shed a ton of licenses in the last two weeks”—the industry term for software—and employees had to justify to management why they should keep certain licenses.
Twitter, which no longer has a communications department, could not be reached for comment.

So, will muck give up his exclusivity to cash in, or will he make an incredibly stupid statement and refuse the subsidies from the government?
I'm leaning towards he will make a very fascist statement, misquote some historical figure, and refuse to conform to the governments request.
Which will give a huge advantage to Ford, which is already coming for titsla, and all the other EV makers who will conform to the CCS charger standards.

Nationalize everything he owns in the United States except tesla, pay him off, bar him from ever going into space, and from ever having another government contract, and do it YESTERDAY...
or get ready for total recall two, with muck as cohagen, holding settlers air hostage until they agree to whatever he wants.

Elon is suppose to introduce a dirt cheap EV this year. To go to space or Mars, Elon needs the government's permission according to international law. Stipulate that he must lead the first mission to mars personally, if he wants permission to send humans there, you first Elon, lead the way by example. All Elon's starlink satellite's are licensed by the US government and FCC and due to concerns from the amateur astronomy community whose rights will be infringed, we are dropping the whole idea...

while i would have very little faith in mucks survival, or the survival of anyone who accompanies him...what if he did survive? Not only survived, but did even fairly well?
what's to stop him and his hand picked cronies from building missile defense systems to stop anyone else from colonizing? whats to prevent them from declaring themselves the owners of mars? Whats to prevent them from colonizing our own moon, and using it as a platform for launching cheap kinetic weapons if we don't agree to his demands?

Elon is no genius, he's just a Trump with some talent. He will need to introduce a dirt cheap EV to compete soon, since every automaker is introducing EVs, especially the high end ones. After alienating most of his Tesla customer base, he will need to chase a lower end market, hopefully he will spur some competition in the economical small EV market. Smaller EVs will be a lot easier on the grid than charging a half ton that could power a house for a week on a charge. It would be a better and easier way to roll these things out IMHO and policy and incentives should reflect this. You should get a bigger rebate for a small economical EV than for and EV version of a hummer or F150 that sucks down huge amounts of grid power. Base it on miles per kilowatt hour and have EVs that get enough range overnight with a built in 120V charger to meet average needs discounted the most, with the lowest road use taxes too.
