electricity bill way too high!

If you're vegging 24/7 go to 18/6...its that or get rid of one of them (lights)...... just a thought or two...luck..
 
Change every regular incandescent bulb in your house to CFL, that will help some. Do you have electric heat? if so maybe a few degrees cooler would help.

Your electric rates must be pretty high, if you call your electricity provider alot of times you can get on their OFF PEAK rates, which should half your bill, but you will have to run all your lights on from 1 am-1PM so as not to be using power during peak hours. Just a thought. I run more power than you do, but it only adds $38 to my bill, but we have the cheapest electricity in the nation here as my state produces about 20 times more than it uses.

I'm not worried about the apt. I am legal and I know the land lord and he smokes herb with me.I just thought 395 was a lot and I don;t know too much about elect. thought there may electrical board i could buy or somthing,

Great idea by NoDrama. You can also put a timer on your hot water heater and save a bunch. Just be mindful of the power you use. But if you get some LED panels it's a moot point; you couldn't burn but maybe $5 a month for a set of three, even if you left them on 24/7.
 
make a conscious effort to save elsewhere like said erlyr switch all other lights to cfl if electric heat lower temp and ware a sweater, turn lights off that your not useing dont sit on the couch getting high watching tv all night or listening to a 1500 watt stereo make an effort and you will see a diffrance. sit in the dark getting high under a blanket i garuntee good times
 
OOOH sittin in the dark getting high under a blanket, just toss in a girlfriend or two and your havin a real good time...brings back memories!!
 
You could switch to two 600 watt hps. They have the highest lume/watt ratio. You'd also be cutting 200 watts out, and getting the same number of lumens. Also, a digital ballast is more energy efficient. If you don;t have one get one. Lastly, be conscientous about turning off other electrical devices when not in use.
